Recent transit experience at CGK
 

I can't seem to find any post 2015/2016 transit experiences at CGK. I know prior to that all of them were a nightmare. I know the departure tax is now included in the ticket.

I'm trying to a do a quick-turn on the KLM flight between KUL - CGK in J.

KUL - CGK arrives 6:10
CGK - KUL leaves 7:25

I'm traveling on a USA passport. Could I go to the transit counter pick-up the BP and go back to the gate? Or do I need to clear customs/immigration and go back through?

I think you can just pick up the new BP and turn around.

I went through 2 weeks ago, but had a longer transit period and actually cleared immigration to go out for a bit. Pretty sure some others from my flight were transiting and just went the other way, though.
