Where to buy coffee in Jakarta?

Hi All,

Is there any specific place where I should buy coffee from while in Jakarta?
I'm not talking about that tremendously expensive coffee that wild cats eat and poop. Just some decent Indonesian coffee.

Should I look for some coffee place in the town or should I buy it on the way out at the duty free store at CGK?

Thanks

The coffee scene in Jakarta is pretty grim. Anomali Coffee is the best cafe I've found. I'd probably buy something at the airport for random coffee to bring back as gifts for people that aren't super into coffee.

Can you elaborate on this sentence? I thought that coffee should be widely available almost anywhere in Jakarta.

My brother took me to a rather quaint coffee place in Mall of Indonesia complex in Kelapa Gading area. Not in the mall itself actually but in one of the rukos (shophouses) in the mall complex. They have coffee beans on display from different parts of the country. You can choose your beans and they will brew the coffee. Or you can just buy the beans to pack and take with you. I am not big on coffee or Kelapa Gading area though so I forgot what the place is called, but I think it should be of interest to you.

You'd may be shocked to find that the majority of Indonesians just drink instant coffee.

Good Day Cappuccino! As far as instant coffee goes, it's actually drinkable imo!
