Colombo overnight - Any recommendations?
 

I hopped on one of the cheap QR business class flight deals out of CMB and my trip is coming up in about a month. I'm combining it with a trip around the world, so won't have much time in colombo, unfortunately. I get in around midnight and leave at 11:00am the next morning. Thoughts on where to stay, visa, food, etc. would be appreciated! Thanks!!

Visa is online for most nationalities. Make sure you use the official government site as there are a couple of commercial sites. One or two days is free.

Stay in Negombo. Closer to the airport than Colombo city. Have breakfast on the beach. All of the on line booking sites will have a range of choices. Be aware that the less expensive places are several blocks from the beach. If beaches don't interest you, the ones around the airport might do.
