Istana Hotel KL
Hi,
Am going to be in KL for a few days with the family. The Istana has a good offer on a two room suite. Does anyone have any observations on access to the hotel if not using taxis? We'll get a car service to and from the airport as they can provide child seats but we're not going to be jumping in cabs to get around day-to-day.
How far is it to KLCC and the nearest light rail station?

The nearest monorail station (which does not go to KLCC) is outside the Crowne Plaza. Its very close, no more than 3-5 min walk, but you have to cross a busy road junction.
Pavillion Mall is perhaps 5-10 min walk, while Suria KLCC is 10-15min walk (very conservative estimates). You need to cross the busy road junction since the hotel is located right at the corner where 2 major roads cross. On a taxi, its no more than 5 min & unless you get a maniac taxi driver, there isnt much opportunity to speed.
