Odd questions: if you arrive at T3 from a domestic flight and your international departing flight is at T3, do I have to still leave the terminal and re-enter and wait in line for my departing flight? Or can I just stay in the terminal and just go to the departure section of the terminal?

Guide to MNL / Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport

The arrival would be downstairs to collect your luggage, and departure is upstairs, so yes you would have to leave and re-enter

Oh no. I'm not going to lie I never been to this airport and I'm quite intimidated by it. My flight lands at 10:30am and my next one departs at 2:40pm. Having to collect my luggage downstairs go outside and line up to go back inside. Do you think 3 hours is enough? I'm reading that they won't let you check in 3 hours before your flight. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That is more than enough time - almost 4hrs (assuming your incoming flight is on time). There won't be a big line up to get back into the terminal. Just have your itinerary printed out to show security to get back in the terminal. Remember you have to pay a terminal fee (after checkin and before immigration) of P550.

You don't have to exit the terminal. You can take the elevator or escalator or stairs going to the departure level (3F) upon claiming your baggage from the arrival area (GF).

Thank you everyone! That put my worries to rest.

If it's the same airline, see if they can check your bags through. 5J does that on certain sectors.

My wife will be departing Manila from T3. Later (much) on the same day, I will be departing from T1. My wife is not a frequent traveler, especially not in developing countries. Will I be able to go with her to check-in and see her to the line for either security or immigration, whichever comes first? I realize that I won't be able to escort her beyond that point.

Thanks!

It depends whether you are let into T3 along with her at the T3 entrance security by show them a itinerary for her. If so, then you can check in with her, until she go pay the exit tax where it is BP only beyond that point.
(likely scenario)

If you are not let into T3 then she line up for check in, pay exit tax, do exit immigration processing and then preflight security.

It is highly unlikely that you will get past security at the front door. But, since you are a frequent traveller, make sure she has her itinerary, departure tax and arrive in plenty of time and she will be fine. Plenty of people depart from T3 that have never been in an airport before.

Of course, but if I can offer the courtesy of accompanying her farther and thereby reduce any anxiety she might have, I would prefer to do so.

You should be able to get in to T3 to accompany her to the check-in counter and see her lineup for security/immigration. Be aware that you might be asked to go use the non-passenger entrance depending on the guard if he/she checks for tickets/BPs. HTH.

I just went into terminal 3 and they don't check your tickets, just search your bags. So you should be able to go into the checkin counter easily

Connection between T2 and T3

My girlfriend will come on the new Philippine airlines flight from Haneda, arriving at NAIA terminal 2 at 4:50am on April 26th.
I will arrive the day before and meet her at the airport when she arrives. We will then catch a PAL express flight to Puerto Princesa that departs from terminal 3 at 7:10am.

We have 2 hours 20 min in which I have to meet her and go from T2 to T3.

Is this doable?
Both of us will only have carry-on baggage and we will check-in online for our PAL express flight. Philippine airlines and PAL express are pretty much the same company so will they guarantee the ticket if her flight arrives late?

Is there a good place in Terminal 2 that I could meet her? I only have a ticket for a departing flight in T3 so maybe I can't get into the terminal?

Thanks in advance.

It should be doable. There shouldn't be much traffic during that time. Not sure about the guarantee. If it's one PNR, it should be honored but YMMV.

You won't be able to get in to T2. Anyway, there's no point going in as the departure hall and the arrivals area is on two different levels. As for the meeting spot, I would suggest curbside or the coffee shop. The curbside support columns would have bay numbers printed on them, just pick one and convey it to her. The coffee shop would be at the end of the building. As soon as she gets outdoors, she just turns right and go to the end.

Also keep in mind that there are two T2 arrivals area. The first one would be for domestic flights, the 2nd will be for international.
HTH
