Looking for Temp Apt in Buenos Aires
We are looking to rent a short term / temporary 1 bedroom apartment in Buenos Aires (Recoleta/Barrio Norte) for one month to 6 weeks. Can anyone make recommendations of companies that they have experience with that we may contact for appointments. Thanks for any suggestions.

I suggest BA Habitat. |
I second Gaucho.
I have used this company 3 times in the last couple of years and the apartments are exactly as you see them on line AND the service is just perfect. They are always on time, very honest and responsive and very helpful. http://www.buenosaireshabitat.com/ One caveat: there are tons of cheaper apartments. You truly get what you pay for. The cheaper apartments usually have no view, are much smaller with not so plush furnishings. But the pictures are true and the descriptions are exact. |
A third vote for BA Habitat...
From what I've gathered over the past few months, they have a reputation for listing "nice" apartments. (Of course, as the poster above said, you get what you pay for.) On the recommendation of some FTers, we stayed in a 1 bedroom for a month and were very happy. Maid service was excellent (sometimes we've gotten some half-assed cleaning jobs in our other apartments), customer service was always very responsive, and there weren't any surprises. It was our 1st month in BA, so we also asked the folks at BA Habitat random questions about daily living things, and they were usually more than happy to help. The hardest part for me was deciding location, and I'm very happy to have chosen Recoleta. |
PM me if you need help with BA Habitat... I know some of the people there. No affiliation, etc.

Discover BA
We go down to BA for a month every year, around Aug/Sept. (We just got back last week.) For the last two years, we've used Discover BA. It's owned by Alfredo and Valeria, an Argentine couple who lived for many years in the US, and you couldn't ask for nicer, more helpful people. They have some great apartments at very reasonable prices in the Recoleta/Barrio Norte area.

I've used Reynolds several times with good results.
http://www.argentinahomes.com/temporary_rentals/ The one thing you need to expect is needing a substantial cash deposit. It will usually be the same as the amount of the rent ( which also needs to be paid in cash) up to a maximum of 1 month. The only place I've encountered that will take a credit card deposit is http://www.apartmentsinba.com/ You can pay with a CC there is a hefty surcharge. |
