Time to bump this thread up...

Bumperooooo again...

time for another bump....

Wouldn't some tips be nice, rather than just bumping the thread all the time?
How to spot rogue taxi drivers? The best deals for lunch buffets (Gourmet Porteno is quite nice), etc? |

Bumping allows folks new to the forum to read up and browse... but I rely on folks like yourself that know Buenos Aires well to "help" me with their information and input... plus, its good to have a balanced approach and not just the view from someone like me that is actually a local. I look forward to your review (or update if its already covered here) of the Gourmet Portenio.... :p |
I wrote a little bit about the Cama Suite seats in my blog (Iguazu post). Depending on what time of year you travel and where you travel to, the cost can be as little as 20-30 pesos more than Cama Ejecutivo, but in my opinion the comfort level is worth paying for (whether it be 20 or 30 pesos or more).
For me, the 2 biggest advantages are (1) 180 degrees of recline, and (2) privacy. The full flatbed allows you to enjoy a full, comfortable night's sleep and arrive at whatever destination you're going to fully rested - very important for a weekend trip, maybe not so much for a 1 week or 10 day trip. And there are partitions between each couplet of seats to provide a bit of privacy. The service is supposedly better, and we noticed the difference between Suite and Ejecutivo (but our sample size is 1 trip each :).) On the suite, we received candy at departure, dinner+wine/beer/water/soft drinks, galletitas for dessert, choice of champagne or whiskey for post-dinner drink, and breakfast. On ejecutivo, we got dinner+drink and breakfast. Both also had coffee at night. Both were Via Bariloche. |

Is a "bump" the same thing as a "nookie nookie"? :D

Hmmm...
hahaha So our Flechabus Cama Suite didn't have as much privacy this time. We had some dudes in front of us acting like they were piloting a spaceship for the first hour or so. It was great, though. Another arrival at our destination after a good night's sleep. |

I can echo previous comments made about asking for a cash discount as the small boutique hotel I stayed at in Montserrat, La Cayetana, offered a 20% cash discount. Instead of the regular ARS456.00/USD120 with the discount the room rate came to ARS364.80/USD96, more than worth considering.
