Buenos Aires Hotels
As an Argentine living in the US, I have visited BA the last three years. Stayed at Cabildo Suites in Belgrano, centrally located, nice accomodations with a very nice breakfast. As everything is driven by greed, they got wind of the smell of Dollars and the prices have gone UP. Can anyone recommend something under U$S 100. Recoleta would be nice but may be out of this range. WE will be there April 5-13. Gracias !!!

I usually rent an apartment. You may actually consider that if you are staying there for a week. There is a huge variety. I used buenos aires habitat and they were great. Have stayed twice in their apartments. Great location, good prices, excellent service from reservation to check in and check out. the apartments look exactly like what you see on line.
Some time ago I stayed at one of the Kempinsky hotels in Recoleta on Talcahuano. Very good location and I remember the price was less than 100 US$. The place is a little dated, used to be very elegant and could use some remodeling but it is clean, very good service, nice breakfast and even the little restaurant was pretty good. |
There are several spots in Recoleta where you can stay for under US$100 - The Juncal Palace, The Art Hotel, Recoleta ApartHotel - the first two have websites that are easy to use (juncalpalacehotel.com.ar and arthotel.com.ar), the latter you can book through hotels.com.
Juncal Palace is pretty much a place where you just have a bed to sleep - it's very inexpensive, is clean and well kept, but you have to step outside your room to change your mind... still, if you're not spending much time in your room, it's a great cheap option. Art Hotel is a bit nicer, with somewhat bigger rooms, and some extra services, like internet in the lobby, and a staff that speak English. Recoleta ApartHotel is another step up, and I've had friends stay there and love it, though the one comment was the lack of staff who speak anything other than Spanish. |
Temporary Apartments have several studio flats that rent from $75 US to $85 US a day or about $450 per week. The Concord Callao is one of their properties and is a good location in the Recoleta. You can check their web site for more information.
