There are several places you can pay it. They will attach a receipt to your boarding pass and stamp it. You can also pay in leftover Argentine pesos if you wish.

You will not be able to go to the emigration desk without the stamp.

Its best to pay for departure tax at the booth on the 1st floor, as its almost always less busy that the ones you will find in the main hall.
