The Seacat website has a security issue and this is maybe why it doesn't open for you

In any case, if you manage to fill in any dates it will divert you to the Buquebus website.

Seacat was a vehicle that Buquebus used to sell discounted tickets - but they have used the Buquebus vessels for quite a few years now.

I don't think they are actually using the site at the moment.

In any case they would be selling you tickets that you can already see on the Buquebus site

OK went thru everything and I still cant purchase what we want. We want the 12:30 boat on Buque, BA-Col

return on CX @ 18:00

Buque wouldnt let me buy a 1 way, and CX in the drop down menu didnt have USA, used Canada just to see if it was doable and got to the payment page, so how does a Yank book CX?

also on Buq it says "Vuelta en el dia" what does that mean it was $40 while Scheduled is $49

yes CX has a 12:50 but it was $65 and wed lose 1/2 hr in town, as it is we have to be at the dock by 17:00 so wed get 3 hrs to roam around tops dont want to lose that 1/2 hr if at all possible.

Do you have a VPN? Will it work if you set it to Argentina and try to access the website as if you were in the country?

OK, tried google translate but it didnt return anything, so at least I know NOT to get that

Looks like Im gonna have to wing it and hope once in BA there are still seats for the sailings we want, I guess worse comes to worse we will go on Mon 9/4

Update: DH is getting old on me, he doesnt want to chance the times we want ending up being soldout or go up in fare. So looks like it will Buque R/T and only 2 hrs on the ground to walk around etc etc 12:30 out and 17:01 back ( wish it was 18:00 but it is what it is, probably in Tourist unless the extra $16 for Biz is really worth it

End result we are going with Buque both ways and will have 2 hrs to check the town out

In case anyone else wants to do this 1- both companys dont have under Nationality American or United States, they both do have United States but its listed under the E' since in Spanish that how they spell United States

2- to do a 1 way with Buque click for roundtrip and fill in the info then switch to 1 way once the new page comes up, learnt this after getting our tkts (lost an hour longer in Colonia) the good thing we having dinner with friends so it will be an hour earlier now they planned

We just got back.
1- we walked from the Hyatt took apx 30 mins since there were a couple of places we wanted to checkout on the way. WE entered the Buque Term @ 11:15am for the 12:30 boat , we were sitting by the gate area @ 11:28am.

As for Colonia just as we got to the Gate entrance it started to rain and hard at times. WE waited under a roof for apx 15 mins till the rain slowed down and started pour once again. So we called it a day and started back to the ferry. It took all of 3 mins to checkin and get to the gate area.

1 piece of advice , in BA we started boarding late and apx 20 mins before we left, in Colina we saw everyone lining up but it looked like they were going on ColoniaExpress since they were under that sign and not Buque. Well the term was pretty much empty so we decided to grab a seat by the Buque boarding sign. As we started to sit an empolyee of Buque cane over to us and asked if we were going with them, we said yes but at 17:01 and it was now 16:30. He said we needed to board. That line wasnt for Colonia but for Buque and they started boarding 40 mins before we left

All in all even with the rain it was a nice outing

I guess bet it being a rainy day and off season the crowds werent around

Do you have a flight from IGR to AEP/EZE then US? or flying out from IGU?
I think 3 days in MVD is enough, not sure when you arrive, but a morning arrival could give you a chance to go around the town, then day 2 you do Punta del Este and day 3 you do Colonia and take the Ferry at 6 o 8pm.
What time do you arrive at IGR? if is in the morning you can do some other stuff like Wanda mines, the Ice Bar or Zip Line, and you can walk around the town. The Iguazu National Park it will take you a full day and you MUST do the Gran Aventura tour, do the park early in the morning (8am), take the train directly to Devils T., then do the other 2 trails, grab something to eat then Gran Aventura tour (last one is around 3pm), it take at least 90 minutes.
Now if you get an extra day, IGU is great and not too far as long you take a taxi (they have a dedicated lane to cross the border) and you can even do the Bird Park next to the Iguazu Falls (Brazilian side), or if you rush it, it can be done half day (the day you arrive at IGR).

wish we knew about Grand Aventura tour or what it consists of

as for the parks, Id strongly suggest if a person is short of time to go to the Brasil side over the Argentina side. that is if you want to see the falls rather then simply watch as water goes over the edge w/o watching it as the Falls. we found the AR tremendously lacking and would have spent alot more time on the BR side had we known what the AR side was like,

If anybody has recently purchased Buquebus tickets using a US based credit card, I would appreciate it if you could confirm that you got the MEP equivalent exchange rate. I purchased tickets with my US AmEx and after 8 days still havent received the exchange rate credit.... Im wondering if this type of service (given its international transportation) is perhaps excluded...?

Thanks.
