What's the latest on receiving parcels from abroad Alex....are they still playing silly beggars?

I gave up when my £10 tea order from the UK was impounded....took them 8 months to tell me of course. Only a half wit would have made the 6 hour round trip to Buenos Aires to collect it not before handing over a fee first of course...so I didn't.

I use a full service Forwarder and it works perfectly.... but they do charge for their Service.

Sadly, I have not experience with the regular service.

I can't comment on tea orders, but books from abroad I receive safely at home (that's the only thing I buy online from outside of Argentina). Only in one case (an 800-page hardcover book) they sent me a letter from the customs authority asking to file an affidavit saying it was for my personal use and I wasn't going to re-sell it, otherwise they were going to charge me with the import tax. I did this online and the package was released from customs and sent to my address a few days later.

FYI, for those of us who live in backward third-world countries with ridiculous protectionist policies, Grabr seems to offer a good service. I haven't tried, but some friend in Brazil swear by it.

Gaucho100K - do you still need stuff for your family? I'm heading down in late November. I usually stick to carry-ons, but can check a medium-sized duffel if it'd be helpful. Drop a PM if you'd like to discuss.
