Cape Horn cruise or land trip to Argentina?

I currently have a deposit on a Cape Horn cruise from Valparaiso to BA for Feb. 14, 2018 on Emerald Princess. Counting the begin and end ports there are 8 stops made by the cruise ship. I am reconsidering whether to visit BA and Patagonia by land. I'd fly to BA, stay a few days, then fly down to Patagonia area, then back to BA. I'm trying to find a local independent tour where someone has made all the arrangements.

The kicker is I only have 2 weeks to do this trip. I can arrive in South America on a Sunday morning and would have to depart on a Sunday night. And I would need to find award tix from UA or AA that match up with the cruise or land travel.

Which would you choose? Can anyone suggest a local Argentine TA to put the trip together? I've looked at Say Hueque web site; they have some itineraries that would work.

gracias for the advice, Susie

I'd stick with the cruise. You can always come back and do a land trip.

I think it would be two different experiences - both good choices. I did a similar cruise this year. There was something really majestic about going around the Horn and it was very special.

Plus penguins!

Nice photos. I've always wanted to take some sort of cruise around the horn. Didn't know that Princess had that Itineary. So the OP has found something nice for those whom like cruising..I once saw a docmentary with a more action/adventure type cruise. May be worth looking into if that's your type of travel as well..
