(un)related anecdote
Regarding the EZE Centurion Lounge, I had lunch with one of my high-roller clients today and he mentioned that his AA2000 Concierge (he is a regular user of the service, gets it comped - long story) got him invited in last time he was flying out of EZE.
This is a guy that can afford just about anything but he currently doesn't carry Amex Plastic... this being related to a long standing "strife" with Amex over a mess up many years ago when his card got cut-off during a business trip in Cairo.... (another long story). So then, regarding this lounge, he told me he was so impressed with the facilities & the services, not in absolute terms, but rather as being so far beyond anything that is even remotely offered in EZE that he is probably going to get himself a Black Amex just to be able to use it regularly. Havent been in the place myself but considering where this comment is coming from, Im thinking its worth a visit... :p The combination of the AA2000 escort through Immigration & Customs with this lounge sounds like a very interesting combination.... ^ |
It's an excellent combination (the AA2000+Centurion Room), if you get the service comped like your client. Most people get a few comps per year from different banks, and it's not worth the use just for the escort through Immigrations.
I'm sorry to hear what happened to him during his trip to Egypt. IMO, Amex always gave the best service to me when traveling abroad and that's why I choose them (most of the times) over the others. About your client getting the Centurion Card, it's by invitation only and one must use a lot their amex cards for quite some time before getting one invitation. I'd suggest you tell your client to get a platinum card, and start spending a lot (specially in wine? :P). The lounge is really nice and as he said, completely different to anything there is in EZE (and most airports in the world). It's worth a visit! |
TAM lounge in terminal A?
My son (19 yrs old) is flying next week on a business class ticket from Terminal A with TAM from EZE to GIG. Earlier posts suggest the LAN/TAM lounge is in Terminal B.
Will he have access to any lounge in Terminal A? |

Hey Corpt! Yes, all terminals are connected in EZE. So he will be able to walk from terminal B to terminal A.
Can anyone confirm that the LAN lounge opens from 2:30am? |

Short trip report:
The Centurion lounge (Platinum area, not Centurion area) continues to be as underwhelming compared to their US counterparts as it was before the renovation. I'm not sure why they closed this lounge down for a month. It looks exactly the same. Still no hot food, and the bathrooms are a disgrace. There are not enough bathrooms, and because each one is an individual room they are incredibly dirty. The wine and liquor offerings are good, although not much variety, just one brand of each type. Also, even though they were turning away a lot of credit AmEx holders (rather than charge), the lounge was full by 9:30pm with every chair taken. I decided to walk to the Admiral's Club without much expectations, since I would NEVER choose an Admirals club over a Centurion lounge in the US. While the Admiral's club is smaller, it was not crowded at all. Maybe because the Iberia flight had already left? The liquor offerings were much better, with multiple choices for red wine, not just Malbec (although I still chose Malbec, albeit a better one than at the Centurion). And the clincher... empanadas! (and soup, and other hot foods) This was perfect for the late flight out, so I can go right to sleep on the plane instead of having dinner. The Centurion lounge with just serving cold cuts doesn't cut it for that. |

(3) I've sampled the AC "hot food." What I've had is tasteless or gross. I'll take the LAN cold selections any day over the AC "hot food." I like the AX space a lot more than the AC space. I haven't yet been @ AX during peak departure time (and won't be for the foreseeable future)! |
I agree with Eastbay1k, I'd take the Amex Platinum lounge over the AC anytime. Last time I was there, they had 0 empty seats and the food selection was really poor (taste wise). Of course, if you can access LAN's lounge, that would be my number 1 choice (after the Centurion Centurion Room). And also, I can't understand why they closed the Centurion Lounge for a complete month less than a year after opening it. I was expecting some kind of upgrade, specially addition of hot food/snacks.
I'll be flying AA in July, I'll give all of them a try and update here. Its the later flight, so none of them should be very busy. |

We were in the AA/IB lounge last week before catching the lunchtime flight to MAD. Have to say I really enjoyed it and found it more to my liking than the LAN lounge. No spirits available but the wine and beer were okay as was the food on offer....both hot and cold.
It was quiet which probably helped....not sure I'd share the same feelings about it had it been the evening. |

Admirals Club better than Amex
Never thought Admirals Club would outshine Centurian Club, especially after DFW exp, but EZE is underwhelming. Smirnoff vodka. Are u kidding? Cold sandwiches. The space is beautiful, but amenities, not up to Centurian standards.

OW Sapphire (Aadvantage Platinum) travelling on BA in WT+.
What lounges can I access? For sure the Lan & AA lounges. Question is if I can access the Centurion lounge as well as this is apparently used by BA. (But maybe only when flying in Club world) |
