I need suggestions for trip to EZE

Hello Flyertalk! I am taking my first international trip!!

I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Buenos Aires for mid January 2014. I'm in no position to splurge $4000 to sit up front on United. So, my fellow travelers, how do you handle sitting in economy for 7 hours or more? I do like having a window seat but I realize on a long flight, I will need to get up at some point. Are most passengers "understanding" and usually polite about letting the person in the window seat out during a long flight? I know that sounds weird but I hate confrontations or the sense that I am disturbing someone, especially on planes!

I was looking through trip advisor, however, does anyone have recommendations for a hotel in EZE that is reasonable? I am looking for something middle of the road and not dirt cheap or very expensive.

Best Regard!

Cant help about the flights but Buenos Aires is an incredible city. I like to think of it as a mix of Paris and Brooklyn. Great people, great food, great weather.

Both times I've been we stayed at Intersur Recoleta. ~$100 a night. There are def cheaper options and there are def pricier ones but think it a solid 4* hotel in a great location.

There is a dedicated Argentina forum. You might consider asking a moderator to send your message to that forum for more specific lodging answers.

Welcome to the Argentina Forums. Can you be a little more specific when you say middle of the road..? A US Dollar figure to what you would be comfortable staying would be the best so that we can offer you a proper suggestion.

Used to do it for 14 hours on flights from/to Europe so 7 hours is short haul for me. Get an aisle seat then you won't have to annoy people to get out.

Finding a hotel to match your budget shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I don't want something $200/night or more. I would like clean and nice, near easy to access tourist areas for around US 70 to 150/night. I don't think I fancy the idea of hostels either.

b.a. is a big city with many choices. for reference, recoleta is center, most expensive. but few areas next to it are many local-run guest houses, way < $100. so worry not.

since your trip is months from now, you may want to immerse in its travel scenes. an easy way to do so is:

Your trip is still quite some time away... more so if you think in ForEx terms. Depending on where the Peso to USD exchange may be at the time you come, you may end up being able to book a very nice hotel for US$150 per night.

For now, I suggest you read up on the various threads here and on other IBBs to get some general information.... and I would advise not booking prepaid hotel rates, at least not until the October elections are over.

Once you have done your basic initial reading, please feel free to come back and ask more specific questions.

Cheers,
