Argentina in August
My wife and I will be traveling with another couple to Argentina next August. We will arrive on August 4th and have about 12 days or so before heading home (have not booked return yet). Along with several days in Buenos Aries we would also like to see Iguazu, Salta and Bariloche. We are aware these are far flung places but each appeals to at least one member of our group. Looking for any suggestions as to how to split up our time, order of sites, and any other handy tips or insight. Thanks.

Bariloche in August just to "sightsee" is someplace you might re-think. The average high is 8c with a lot of precip. Going to ski? Different story, although August may be a bit late in the season. (Others can chime in with more intelligence).

August is probably the best month to Ski in Bariloche.... so if thats the plan, you are on the right track.
More later.... |
Actually skiing is not part of our plan, one of our friends was very interested in this area, see the lakes, etc. We want to accommodate her desire. Would we be able to get out and see anything?

I was in Iguazu and BA last August for a total of 9 days. Iguazu was nice (highs in the low 80s), but BA was cold (highs in the 40s, lows just above freezing), so pack accordingly.
I think you may have trouble hitting all 4 destinations in 12 days, considering their disparate locations, although I think there is Iguazu-Salta service (not sure if Andes still does it, but I think AR does?) As for BA, be sure to visit Gaucho's shop! :D |
Ok I'm game where and what is this shop?
