RCC Lounge at EZE?
Flying out tomorrow from EZE flying with TAM in J.
Last time we were able to use the AMEX Centurion lounge so I take it the same arrangement will be in place. From memory it is nothing great but it'll at least give us some peace and quiet for a coffee. We also have Star Alliance Gold so we will have access to the RCC lounge although it doesn't open till 16.45. Anyone have any idea if it's worth a visit? |
The RCC should be nice and quiet when it opens. That is the most appealing part about the place. That is, until the buffet cart arrives with the prime rib carving station. However, that comes out 3 minutes after your JJ flight departs. (And, note that if your JJ flight is delayed, they also delay the buffet cart, so you'll never get to experience it.)
The wine selection is similar to all the other EZE lounges I've been in, which is to say, better than the Palermo Plonk you are always teased with, but not as good as your usual teeth-rotting swill. Just remember, it would be £20 a bottle in your native land so you can pretend it is fancy wine. The prime rib really brings out the flavor, but you will never know. Another FTer is captivated by the caramels by the front desk, and has been known to make special trips to/from EZE just for the caramels. I just usually go over to the RCC when the AC gets too busy. I also sometimes go to the Salon VIP Vomitus next to the AX lounge for another change of scenery. |
Thanks Eastbay1K for that most entertaining reply.....you seem to relish the fact we'll miss out on the prime rib of beef. ;)
The caramels are made by Arcor I think. |

Unfortunately the hors d'oeuvres that used to be served in the RCC have now been replaced by sandwiches de miga. Sigh.

That reminds me of the day UA took Dom off the F wine list... If the AC is too crowded next month, I might mosey over to the RCC to see if the abundant offerings have changed. (Oh, I hope LAN opens its own lounge one of these days.) |

You can tell this thread is full of 'gringos'..... prime rib is a foreign cut of meat... local butchers have never heard of it. As my Martinez Carnicero would say.... " prime que..??!!!!! "

Well, the replacement of "Prime Rib" with sandwiches de miga isn't nearly the downgrade as was the replacement of Dom with Blechum de Peu, NV.

You better enjoy the "sandwiches de miga." The truckers union is picketing the entrance to the catering facilities in EZE. Article in spanish -- Por el bloqueo de Moyano en Ezeiza, en 48 horas podrķan empezar a cancelarse vuelos Who the hell is in charge of the country? :D

Post a trip report, will ja“ .....? ;)
A wee mini report before I get down to doing the real thing. TAM nearly refused to fly me... The pre check-in queue agent refused to accept that my permanent residency visa was enough proof for me being in the country legally. I had to go round to the immigration desk and ask the guy to print out some proof of my DNI application..what a bloody carry-on. This is twice I have had problems trying to leave the country...they're obviously afraid if they allow me to leave I won't come back again. :D Anyway, half an hour of lounge drinking was wasted which was just as well because the AMEX lounge was bloody awful......I couldn't believe they could make a poor lounge even worse after a refurbishment. The RCC lounge was very pleasant though although the only prime beef I saw was the wonderful mature lady at the desk. TAM flights were excellent and all on time. ^ |
