In all my years I can honestly say I have not had any experiences similar to yours. Yes security and immigration can be busy at times but I find the queues do move very quickly. I have never encountered any Argentines skipping the queue either.......the Brasilians are good at that dodge though.
As for the waiting times to clear security and immigration..although EZE is not the best they certainly aren't much different from some International airports especially in the States. What civilisation awaits at the other side? Certainly isn't the lounges. :D I usually seem to depart amongst a sea of Brasilians. I'm glad you said it. The lines seem to go slower when there is a sea of Brasilians. I do not know why. I truly feel no real civilization (or even civilisation) at EZE until I am onboard enjoying my first pre-departure beverage. When I have time, I lounge hop as each one is a bit worse or better than the next, but none really wants to make you stay. (If I get there about the time the RCC opens, it is nice and quiet, and if I put the UA and AA olives up side by side, the UA olives might just win!) |

Just the open space and the ability to move around is more civilized than being confined to a queue that moves at the pace of a snail. I prefer to stroll the Duty Free shop, have a snack in one of the bars and get my religious 30+ minute chair massage with Nadya. Her magic touch relaxes me so much that soon after boarding off to sleep I go. No need for drinks or pills. Unfortunately, they are out of EZE by the end of June. I got her card for house calls. Life is beautiful..... :) cheers, --J |

Last night at EZE it was 35 minutes from security questions to the duty free paradise and the Gate 8 for AA.

I fly out of EZE all the time and plan to be to the airport at least 3 hours before my flights. Why do I say plan?
It normally takes you about 45 minutes from Buenos Aires (Capital Federal) to get to the airport, however as most US flights depart in the evening, you're usually leaving for the airport at rush hour. It has taken me 2+ hours to get there before. Once at the airport, the lines for the ticket counters can be long as can the line for security and clearing customs. This is really hit or miss, but a lot of flights leave around the same time. I would not recommend taking any chances and sucking up eating the airport food. |
