Any Australians visited Antarctica recently?

Hi all,

My name's Zac Crellin and I'm a journalist with The New Daily in Sydney, Australia. I'm writing an article about how many travellers are considering visiting Antarctica because it's more straightforward and safer than visiting many other overseas destinations. My understanding is that travel has been booming lately!

I was just wondering if any Australians on here had visited Antarctica sometime over the past two years, or if anyone has an Antarctica trip booked in future? If so, I'd really love to hear from you about how it went! My email is [email protected]

Cheers,
Zac

Did you get any interesting responses? Are people travelling to Antarctica?

Hi, any new updates from Antarctica? Recently they mentioned the Red Snow phenomenon which is interesting to see.

I was on a 16 night sailing on Silversea November 2021. We met other Americans, Canadians, Russians and Germans, Britts, and a young couple from Ireland. I don't think there were any Aussies. I think it was hard to Covid test ( 72 hour) and plan to /arrive in South America within those 72 hours???

And Antarctica sailings end usually in March.
