First B737-300 in the world to be scrapped I believe http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
Amazing how hopeless management can turn a national icon into nothing. Amazing, the power of destructive Kiwi egos too. If anything, I hope this has knocked a good deal of sense into, and a lot of dead wood out of NZ.
Don't get too excited about SQ building a new airline too soon. Think about it, out of all the Star Alliance carriers, who needs a domestic carrier least?
If you were the Singaporean Government, with the aviation industry worldwide in the state it is, is a new airline the best investment to be made?
Food for thought.

Those pictures of the Varig jet are taken at Melbourne outside the main AN maintenance base. Varig has several 737-33As which AN also flew.
The last few pictures are of an Airbus A340-600 brake test gone wrong.

It looks like AN II (or III) never had a chance... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
