QANTAS has taken over as the official airline of the AFL, replacing Ansett.
An AFL spokesperson said the league entered negotiations with Qantas following the initial collapse of Ansett and prior to any attempted rescue of the airline.
The arrangement with Qantas would begin immediately with the pre-season Wizard Cup to begin on Friday when the Western Bulldogs meet Fremantle in Perth.
