City Pairs
I'm currently on a status run on Amtrak, based in New York and working in DC. I'm headed down to Washington on Friday, but I need to stop in Philadelphia for a meeting. I'm going to be on the Acela down to PHL from NYP in the morning, and from PHL to WAS in the early afternoon. The NYP-WAS trip would be a 500 point trip. . .is there any way to capture the select city pair bonus on my itinerary? It seems silly. . .I'm doing the exact same trip, shouldn't I get the same miles?
Thanks. |
No, you couldn't! NYP-PHL or PHL-WAS are not qualifying city pairs.
I have the same problem (even though I can't ride AE from my home station of KIN) where PVD-NYP doesn't qualify but RTE-NYP does - so to qualify, I would either have to backtrack or just pay more than what I am riding. (RTE is one stop farther north than PVD.) |
