Blackout Date for Select Plus
 

I think this was briefly mentioned before, but I just qualified for select and found one of the benefits a little odd, the ability to claim awards on blackout date. Like the airlines regular vs. saver awards, the rule buster fair is a lot more, almost double. What I don't understand is why is this a select+ benefit. If they were going to offer select+ the ability to book any day w/o blackouts that's a real perk. If they expect us to pay extra then just open it up to everyone.

As another benefit of being a Select Plus member for 2006, Amtrak is allowing Select Plus members to redeem for travel during blackout dates. If you are interested in traveling during a blackout date, please contact the service center 1-888-707-6600.
