As of now it looks like i will hit 5000 qualifying points by early march. Will I get a select kit as soon as i hit 5000 or will i have to wait until feb of '07. As of now I do not have status. Then if i hit 10,000 by say July will i get a second kit in the mail for select plus?

You will get your kit aprox 4-6 weeks after you reach the 5000 point landmark. The same for the 10000 point landmark.

well its a real bonus for the first year because you get both the select and the select plus kit

Yes you will, That happend to my son one year. He got select by april and Select Plust by August and got more UG's.

Not always. Those of us who were in AGR before there was a Select Plus status, never got extra coupons the year that Amtrak first introduced the Select Plus status.

And there are some who only qualify for Select in their first year, but make Select Plus in their second year, so they don't get double coupons. Plus I'm sure that there are some who qualify for Select early in the year, but only make Select Plus right at the end of the year. Again they wouldn't get double coupons.

Well whats the cut off for mainling, when do you have to hit a level before they mail it out?

I'm not real sure what the cutoff point might be. My guess is that anyone qualifying for status in November or later, would not get anything mailed to them for that year. They would have to wait until the new year's normal mailing date. However it could be earlier, like September or October.

It should be noted that even though you might not have the card, once you qualify for a status level, your account will immediately recongnize that level. That means that bonus points for future trips will automatically start showing up.

Thats good, my biggest interest is in the ClubAcela card and the access to prez clubs

Hmmm, I wonder if you will have difficulty accessing the prez clubs, without the card. You know, using the printout from your online account that says you are Select Plus.

I take it using the print out should be fine at clubacela cause they can allways check their computers. As for prez club where on the GR site does it even say you can use it for clubacela, i cant find it.
