Coast starlight cancellations?
Hi! have booked the coast starlight from Los Angeles to Seattle king station for late next month.

I’ve been following the trains status for a couple of days and it seems that everyday is changed to a bus to Bakersfield and then 717 train to Martinez, CA where the coast starlight is picked up.

I’ve been looking for service announcements but can’t find anything. Is this a weather issue or is there something else going on, anybody know?

hopefully it will be back to normal soon?

Edit: found the reason..(though not on Amtrak website)

Appeared to have been CXL'd for 4-5 straight days last week.

Los Angeles stop is Union Station (albeit there are others such as Washington DC) Tacoma, Portland?

Follow @amtrak on twitter. Also, Facebook has an Amtrak fan page and a CS page. Lots of bad weather is affecting train service on the CS, Empire Builder, and the Zephyr.
