30 day points expiration notification - too late for shopping portal?

I received a "your points will expire in 30 days" email. I have enough there for a round trip on Acela so would rather not lose it.
Since chase going away I dont have points in other connected programs. Is it too late to shop through portal? I made a quick HD purchase just in case, but will it post in time?
Is the only other option to buy 500 points for $18, barring unexpected travel?

thanks!

My experience is that Amtrak shopping points take 3-5 months to post after its been tracked. If I were you, I would buy 500 points for 18 dollars, because I'd rather pay 18 dollars and be comfortable knowing I still have a free acela ride good for multiple years. Because you'll be kicking yourself if you let a 250+ free ride go away all for 18 dollars

You could sign up for either the AGR World ($79 AF) or AGR Platinum ($0 AF) credit card both of which protect against point expiration.

Also if you have 10,000 Hilton points you won't miss, you can exchange those for 1,5000 AGR points.

I ended up buying the points, as shopping points still didnt post. I bought the points on 02/19/2019, then today 02/20/2019 I got an email that "Survey Points Club" is an avenue to get points. I did not see this partner before, perhaps I missed it.
15min later I have 250 in my account... I'll update this when shopping points post, for posterity
