I wonder if UA pays amtrak for this access and/or I wonder how much Amtrak pays United for UA club access for S+ members...

I believe Amtrak/United have a codeshare agreement. I wonder if the Select Guest Rewards includes UC access.
Club Acela access is a nice bonus. I'm in South Station nearly every other day and it beats staring at the train board sitting on those high stools. The Metropolitan Lounge sign has been up for a while, so I'm not sure if it's a true rebranding.

Select + lets you into United Clubs last time I checked (currently only Select). It even lets you bring in guests, it's like having a full membership.
GoAmtrak likes this.
