What's Going on in the Toledo Area?
While I thoroughly enjoyed my trip this past weekend HFY-SOB and return on the Capitol Limited, the westbound (#29) was late into SOB by 2 hours 10 minutes, and the eastbound (#30) was 3 hours 45 minutes late getting back to HFY. It appears that there is a major bottleneck east of the Maumee River bridge in the Toledo area.
On the eastbound, once we lost our slot, the train got later and later, being impeded by slow freights, particularly on the downslope east of the Allegheny Mountain tunnel.
