Sadly my time on the San Joaquin was completely in the dark. Although I had just finished riding ACE which was definitely some of the nicest scenery I've experienced on a commuter railroad.

Busiest year of Amtrak travel for me so far. But it is slowing down as most future travel revolves around flying.

Done:

Acela Express:
NYP to WAS (4 round trips)
NYP to BOS (5 round trips, 1 one-way)
NYP to PHL (3 one-way trips)

Pennsylvanian:
HAR to NYP (one-way)

Keystone Express:
NYP to HAR (one-way)

Adirondack:
NYP to ALB (2 one ways)

Empire Service:
ALB to NYP (2 one-ways)

Upcoming:
NYP to ALB roundtrip in September (probably take 8:15 Adirondack and come back on the empire service)

Acela: various trips along the BOS-WAS corridor.
NER: once, because I was getting off at EWR.
Pacific Surfliner: various trips as far north as SBA and as far south as SNC.

It's been three years, so I guess it's time to update with new routes and a couple I forgot:

Acela/Regional - Boston to DC and points in between many times
Downeaster - Boston to Portland many times
Silver Meteor - Orlando to NYC
Lake Shore Limited - Boston to Rochester round trip, Chicago to Boston
Capital Limited - DC to Chicago twice
California Zephyr - Chicago to Sacramento
Coast Starlight - Sacramento to LA
Texas Eagle - LA to Chicago
Montrealer - Essex Junction to Montreal
Adirondack - Plattsburgh to Ticonderga round trip
Silver Star - Washington DC to Lakeland (first trip with the family!)

Upcoming:
Silver Meteor - NYC to Orlando

Just rode Iowa Pacific's Hoosier State

In Business Class - dinner out and breakfast back in the dome-diner! ^

I was on business LPE-CHI-IND and return this past week. Usual Amfleet tube cafe-biz car to CUS and back, but wow... talk about an upgrade on Iowa Pacific's fleet! I hope they can one day add frequencies (and routes - Hello, State of Michigan DOT...) as I haven't had this good of service since FC on the Canadian 20 years ago with VIA Rail Toronto-Vancouver. Made me wonder how it would have compared to UP's dome-diners westward from Chicago pre-Amtrak.

As far as total routings here's my lifetime tally:

Empire Builder-North Coast Hiawatha MSP-WIN-MSP
Lake Cities DER-CHI
Empire Builder CHI-PDX
Coast Starlight PDX-LAX
San Diegan LAX-OSD-LAX
Desert Wind LAX-SLC
California Zephyr SLC-CHI
Twilight Limited CHI-DER
Wolverine CHI-DER (and later, PNT)
International LPE-TWO
Bluewater LPE-CHI
Hiawatha CHI-MKA
Capitol Limited TOL-WAS-TOL and WAS-CHI
Pennsylvanian Fostoria, OH-PHL
Acela WAS-NYC
NE Regional WAS-NYC
Pacific Surfliner SAN-OXN
Lakeshore Limited TOL-NYC
Crescent Limited ATL-WAS
Hoosier State CHI-IND [Iowa Pacific]

Many of the trip plans were in multiple frequencies - namely Michigan-Chicago, Toledo-Washington D.C. and soon Chicago-Indy - usually in spurts when convenient by schedule (and when I'm sick of my weekly flying).

I just got off the Silver Star yesterday (Hollywood-Kissimmee). Interesting the train "backtracks" between roughly Winter Haven and Tampa).

- Coast Starlight

- Empire Builder

- Pere Marquette

- Montrealer

- Atlantic City Express (from NYP, no stop or change in PHL)

- Metroliner Service (the precursor to Acela)

- Pioneer

- Keystone

- Hoosier State

- Cardinal
