:) I'm reading the T&C and I'm not sure what a train number is.
Members may earn points for one train ticket used on a single train or individual train number on a single day. Multiple tickets for the same train or individual train number, on the same day, will not earn will not earn points.

So, in the course of a single day and for the purpose of earning points for Select status, are 2100, 2104, and 2160; three individual train numbers or just 1 train known as Acela Express?

It's based on train number, your mileage run will work. :)

Yes. For all internal Amtrak purposes, the train names have no meaning. They are simply a customer-friendly branding ("riding the Coast Starlight" sounds much more exotic and memorable than "riding train #11"). For scheduling, ticketing, point earning, and all of that, the number is what matters, regardless if two train numbers share a name.
