am at encore on this deal now...got upgraded to the tower suites. damn, it's fabulous. quiet, separate check-in area (and NOT smoky!) and quiet, very well appointed rooms. the staff is top notch, although i'm not crazy about the crowd, but that's probably just high-end las vegas. the suites are tasteful and all the switches work--drapes, lights for foyer, living room, etc. (i'd read in another thread where some folks had trouble). no idea how they're going to keep this place maintained--silk wallpaper in the elevators?--but it's lovely.

had a buffet breakfast yesterday (part of fhr bennies) at wynn, very well done. we're not big gamblers, but we've had wonderful meals at okada--transcendant sushi--and daniel boulud, so the hotel is making some money off us.

thanks again to the op! ^

Did they just automatically upgrade you to the tower suites or did you have to ask? I'm taking advantage of this deal in a few weeks.

Thanks Karen!

I was told my card would be charged for the first night's deposit and then reimbursed, but there hasn't been any activity from Wynn or Encore on my card. Was your experience the same?

An interesting twist-- I had some relatives stay this this week who had a great time. They claimed when they checked in that the desk clerk told them they could use their Centurion to pay for incidentals at check-out but that they had to use their Platinum card for card inprint at check-in because the 2 free nights was an offer for Plat cardholders and the reservation had been made through PTS.

they automatically upgraded us. when we went to check in--at the 'regular' encore check-in area--we were told to walk over to the special tower suites area as we'd already been upgraded.

i was told the same thing...but my card wasn't charged the deposit either.

not only that, but upon check-out, i noticed that we had been charged for both room nights (at a $210 rate, if anyone's interested) and when i pointed that out, both nights were removed, no problem. i didn't look at the folio until i got home...now that i have, i noticed they also removed the tax...so we only paid for our AMAZING dinner at okada, one day of internet and the overage on our lunch at wazuzu (one lunch per person up to $45 each comes with fhr benefits, plus the breakfast up to i think $30 per person each day). apparently, we got lucky in las vegas.

i have to say again that the staff at both encore and wynn were really superb, from the folks at the front desk, concierge and better restaurant staff (where you'd expect it) to the ladies working the buffet at wynn, and the maintenance guys doing the tile work in the casino. really an impressive group.

it was an incredibly smart promo on encore/wynn's part. we'd have never thought to stay there otherwise, and were truly bowled over by the property. we'll be singing their praises for a very long time.

wynn encore promo

hello friends,

wife and i went to the wynn encore hotel and enjoyed the two free nights with the centurion program. the hotel is most beautiful, very well done. lots of good design features and a very comfortable stay. we went during mid week and lucky for us the hotel was not very crowded so we got the comp upgrade to the towers?? or whatever they are called. the upgraded rooms section had the seperate entrance, elevator, etc.

casino was pleasant with a wide range of games and slots offered we are not big gamblers but spent some time at slots and blackjack.

like someone else mentioned earlier, at check out they accidently forgot to deduct the amex centurion daily breakfast perk, $30 pp, and lunch - $45 pp, but during check out when we asked about it, they quickly adjusted the overages, which were our responsibility as evidently were the tips. so pay attention at check out. ps you have a wide array of restaurants at wynn or encore to chose from so you will find something perfect for your taste for meals.

one thing we did not grasp was the massively slow service at the restaurants even though we were off peak and no crowds. we asked for our bill at breakfast the first day, and it was over 10 minutes later that the waitress decided to finally hand it over. i thought the whole idea of a casino was to keep you gambling, ie:
no clocks, pump fresh air into casino to rejuvenate you, not have movie channels in the room etc etc with the idea of keeping the customer potentially on the casino floor not in the hotel room or restaurants.

likewise for breakfast the next day in another restaurant, they brought our juice and then never came back, we made the mistake of mentioning to the waitress that we would like to order since we were leaving shortly, she said ok and did not come back to take the order, weird??. we walked out after sitting for over 10 minutes and told the hostess to charge our room for the juices. very odd. no crowd, wait staff just lounging around talking with each other. we were happy and polite and clear so not sure what is going on in the wait staffs brain. but they were more interested in talking with each other then taking our food order.

regarding the food, we had several meals on site that were excellent. very good variety and taste.

we enjoyed the two nights and will go back. wynn will make back in gambling what they offer in room comps. seems like a wynn wynn (pun intended) for cardmembers and the casino.

also will give their macau operations a visit next time in macau.

regards,
jsq

Is this offer exclusive to US Platinum card holders or is this available to Canadian Platinum card holders as well?

This is the real deal.

Like everyone else, I assumed this was a BOGO offer, buy one, get one... but that is NOT the case...

I am on the line with Amex Plat as I write this, it is 2 nights FREE, GRATIS, NO CHARGE, in a 'resort room' only in the Wynn or Wynn Encore (Taxes not included).

Offer ends April 25, 2009... which is too bad for me arriving on May 19.

I just got off the phone with PTS - they said that this offer was for specific Platinum members who received a mail notification containing the booking code. She would not budge - stated no code - no free nights.

She is pulling one on you. Call back. The code is on one of the links of this thread anyway.

I heard about the promotion here on FT only, called PTS, checked dates, told them I'll call back and asked was there a code for this in case when I call back they don't know what I'm talking about. She then gave me the promotion code [which I have since discarded, but again on one of the links in this thread].

I just got off the phone with PTS. We're going in April. Two free nights, no additional nights required, and all the Fine Hotel perks -- upgrade if available at the time of check-in, continental breakfast for 2 mornings, and one comp lunch. We pay taxes, and they'll charge our card $400 on check-in to cover incidentals, but anything unused is refunded on check-out.

Great deal!

Great deal!
glad to hear it! it is a great deal, and i'd be surprised if you get charged the $400...you'd be the first.

That's pretty much was PTS told me, too, but they said I should know, "just in case."

This one trip alone more than pays for the yearly fee. Each time I think about downgrading from platinum to gold, something like this comes up which makes it worthwhile keeping the card.
