I will be calling first thing monday morning. I have a 130.00cr from a cancel flight. Do u think I could use this for additional savings from the 2 to 1 fares

The airlines will never let you combine anything like that.

It isn't an airline thing so much as a travel agent thing. You're buying the tickets from a travel agent (API) and those vouchers/coupons are only valid when purchasing directly from the airline.

So, No, you won't be able to use it.

That what i was thinking Smb12. I was hoping an outside chance because I purchase my travel plans through amex travel on AA. and had to cancel. My new travel plans also include using AA.

Sadly (for you) the 2/4/1 deal isn't actually operated by AmEx; you have to use the AmEx card to pay for the ticket, but otherwise they aren't involved at all in the booking process.

You'll just have to take another trip to use the AA voucher

Nor is the ordinary travel booking service, which is currently outsourced to Travelocity. In any event nearly all airline tickets are invoiced by a carrier, and any credit will be on a voucher issued by a carrier, not by the travel agency.

Well, the API program is different

Here's what the charge looks like on my statement:
Code:
Transaction Date: 01/25/2008
Transaction Description: COMPANION AIRFARE PRFORT LAUDERDALE FL
TRAVEL AGENCY

Charge: $412.58
Merchant Address: AIRLINE PROMOTIONS SOUTH
1500 W CYPRESS CREEK RD S

FORT LAUDERDALE FL 33309-1851
USA

Merchant Type: TRAVEL AGENCY
Doing Business As: COMPANION AIRFARE PROGRAM
It is not invoiced by the carrier at all. I agree that most other travel bookings are, with the occasional second "service charge" booked as a second line item on the bill, but not for API.
