How do you get MR points to equal 1 cent each?

Except for a few useless gift cards I can't seem to find a way to get my MR points to give me 1 cent value in cash.

How do I get my MR points to give me 1 cent cash value?

Thanks.

The short answer is that you can't get that level of "cash" value except through gift cards, which are at least cash equivalent. If you redeem for travel then the value of the points is relative to the cost of the reward that you are redeeming.

But if you are looking for something fungible, the gift cards are the best value option.

Believe you can use points at 1 cents each to buy a ticket through American Express.

Buy a refundable plane ticket (100 points per dollar) close to the amount you want to redeem and then refund the ticket. Plain and simple.
