Can I do this? MR to Hawaiian-SW-AA

O.K. bottom line is I want AA miles. Can I redeem my MR miles to Hawaiian then redeem my Hawaiian miles to SW points..then over to AA? I know it's a lot of hassles but in the end I'll have AA miles. I'm looking at 25,000 MR miles. If this is possible how many AA miles will I ultimatly end up with?

If I can't do this then I guess that I'll do it through HH.

This option does not now exist and has never existed.

the only airline partner of Southwest (WN not SW) is ATA (TZ)

only way to go MR > AA is 60K > 25K ratio via starwood

you can redeem mexicana miles for AA awards though..

I believe lkohawaii is referring to Starwood, not to Southwest Airlines. In any event I do not believe that transfers can be made from Hawaiian to Starwood, only the reverse.

Edit: I now realize that this pertains to this thread...

Perhaps a moderator can merge them to avoid repetition.

Sorry, yes I was referring to Starwood points. Just thought maybe I found a way to get those AA miles by going one more step. I guess not. I will live with HH points. Thanks everybody.

if you want AA miles, that would be a horrible choice.

60K membership rewards > 60K XX miles > 120K hilton > 12K AA
60K membership rewards > 20K starwood > 25K AA

25K MR > 25K XX > 50K hilton > 5K AA
25K MR > 8300 starwood > 8300 AA

and again if you want AA awards, you can get them from mexicana. thanks alanh for the link ^

Are you trying to pool miles with an existing AAdvantage account, or do you just want to book a flight on AA? If it's the latter, you can transfer your miles to Mexicana at 1:1 and get a partner award with AA.

I believe "I will live with HH points" means that lkohawaii would rather have 50,000 HHonors points to redeem for hotel stays than the small amount of AAdvantage miles that could be realized through any transfer.

25,000 miles is not sufficient for an award from Hawaii.

I have some AA miles. To get off this island I think the minimum is 35,000 miles. So, yes I wanted to pool these miles with my existing AA miles. With that horrible ratio...I'll go find a Hilton Hotel to stay in. Thanks everybody.

60K > 25K isn't THAT bad. but you do need 60K.
