Amex Plat DL SkyClub access limited to 10 days access per year effective 2/1/25
Lots of discussion in the DL forum on all the DL changes that have been announced/leaked today... but the big change for Amex Plat holders is that effective February 1, 2025, SkyClub visits will be limited to 6 visits per year. This is a hard cap, as day passes are no longer sold, and there will be no option to pay to get in.
My thought is that this doesn't bode well for crowding in Centurion Lounges located in close airside proximity to large DL operations like JFK, LAX and the upcoming ATL lounge.

Will be tolerable for most families, particularly if AUs get 6 passes as well. Less so for the solo biz traveler...

Not really, Amex is one of the only card issuers that has an age limit to be an AU on a card (13 years), but of course there's no such limit on the Business Amex probably because it has a higher annual fee.

The same $75k waiver will apply, with unlimited access for those who pass that threshold.
Note that changes are still some 16 months off.

Will American Express:
1. Add additional benefits to the Platinum Card to make up for the loss of unlimited access?
2. Be grifters and act like nothing was taken away?
3. Raise the annual fee to $795, add a $5 Door Dash statement credit and bump up the marketing to make cardmembers feel special?

Will I still be able to bring a guest in to Delta lounge for $49?
(assuming we arent on a basic economy ticket, no one gets in if thats your ticket).

Just got off the phone with Amex here in Germany, so far they don't know anything about upcoming changes. Will be interesting to see what happens to SC access using european Amex Plat cards as they do not report anything to Amex in the US.

Yeah I asked that same question a couple posts up. ROW Platinum cards are slowly closing the gap if these benefit reductions keep up!

I think there was a period where the Skyclubs folks weren't too thrilled by Plat/Cent members invading their clubs; so, now they can return the favor! At this point, I'm assuming the DL Res while limiting access to Skyclubs will confer unlimited access to CLs? Ah, Sundays in Vegas or prime time in JFK, anyone?

Yeah, it was starting to normalize, mostly anyways. I suppose, turn about is fair play, and we can share our frustrations here on being invaded by those DL folks (all in good fun, of course)!
