Report clawbacks of the FHR/THC $200 credit.
The intent of this thread is to gather DPs on people who have:
1. Prepaid FHR stay in order to user the $200 annual credit on the Plat.
2. Canceled that stay without booking another FHR stay in the calendar year.
In my case, I prepaid Crockford's in November 2022, got the annual $200 credit for 2022, canceled that stay in Jan 2023, and haven't had the $200 clawbacked yet. I still have the Plat open.

Did you prepay the reservation? What is it specifically that could be clawed back?

Amex took back my credit when I cancelled. Booked a hotel beginning of December and got the $200 credit. Had to cancel a couple weeks later, and Amex reversed the credit a week after that.
I rebooked on Dec 29th and received the $200 credit again.

Are you sure it didn't deduct from your 2023 credit?

I'm not sure if the OP is looking for this kind of data point, but:
1) I booked an AMEX FHR hotel in April 2022 - got the $200 credit immediately
2) Cancelled the booking a few days later due to a change of plans - was refunded
3) However, the $200 credit was never clawed back (something I didn't notice)
4) I booked another AMEX FHR hotel stay in September 2022, thinking I would get the $200 credit
5) I called in a few weeks later - the Amex agent reminded me I got the $200 credit in April and it was never clawed back, so I wasn't due another $200 credit (I had honestly forgotten)
It seems like clawback activity is hit or miss. If I were OP I would be expecting a clawback and proceed as if it were going to occur shortly

Oddly enough, I have a 2023 datapoint on this as well.
1/1/2023 - Booked a prepaid FHR stay
1/3/2023 - Cancelled FHR stay (change of plans)
1/5/2023 - Received $200 Hotel Credit
Edit
2/12/2023 - Booked a prepaid FHR stay
As of today (1/30/2023) my account is still sitting at negative $200, as I expected this credit to be correctly clawed back. I have the remainder of the year to make a qualifying stay. Of course the terms have explicit language to address this...
So this is not some sort of loophole that can reliably be exploited.
Edit: I ended up booking another FHR stay on 2/12 so my "datapoint" is only good for a month or so, but Amex did not clawback the $200 credit I received based upon my cancelled 1/1 booking

Statement credits may not be received or may be reversed if the booking is cancelled or modified.

While there's no tracker like with some of the other credits, the way to tell if the system thinks you have or have not used your FHR/THC credit for the year is to log into Amex Travel and review this info on the landing page:
On the left side, under the image of your card where it says "My Travel Benefits", a reference to the $200 credit will appear each year until you use it, at which point it will no longer show. If you get credit for a booking and later cancel it, if the cancellation is recognized by the system, the reference to the benefit will reappear.
My personal experience (which has been tested many times due to the inability to change dates on existing reservations), is that the system catches cancellations most of the time, but there are the rare times (often during times when people are complaining of other credits not posting reliably) when the system won't catch it.

Is the Amex Travel link you're referring to "https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/travel/"?
