FAQ
Q: Where is the lounge?
A: Terminal 3, F concourse, right by Gate F2 (formerly gate 75) and the F-1 security checkpoint (that has PreCheck, sometimes).

Q: Can I visit there if I'm departing from another terminal?
A: Absolutely. Security at SFO will let passengers departing from any concourse at SFO go through security in any concourse, even ones that aren't connected behind security. At the moment, concourses C, D, E, F, and G are all connected airside to the Centurion lounge. From boarding areas A or B you would have to clear security twice. For the most up-to-date info, see Connecting in SFO thread in the FlyerTalk San Francisco forum.

Q: Can I visit if I'm arriving at SFO?
A: Centurion Lounges no longer offer access on arrival.

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at SFO is located at the International Terminal, A Gates, near Gate A1.

On the other hand, UA flights depart from a few D Gates in Terminal 2, the E & F Gates in Terminal 3, and the International Terminal, G Gates.

So in every case, after finishing a visit at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, one would have to exit security and then re-clear security to catch a UA flight.

I totally forgot about the VS lounge. Apparently, I have access through my AMEX Platinum. I was inquiring about showering before taking UA1 and I think I have found my solution even though I'll have to clear security twice. Are there any plans to link A gates to the G gates so I won't have to clear security multiple times?

According to comments in that thread, walking "the long way around" SFO airside, once construction is complete, will take about 20 minutes.

I pay attention to this because, while I mostly fly UA, and am a lifetime United Club member, I am also a lifetime Admirals Club member, and AA honors our original terms & conditions -- not requiring a same-day AA or oneworld flight for lifetime members.

I believe the very long-term plan is to redesign the International Terminal such that security is in the current departures check-in hall (not at the entrances to the A and G Concourses). There will be an airside section after that, again within what is now the check-in hall. You'll be able to walk airside directly from A-gates to G-gates and vice versa. In other words, it will be like an airside circle, not an arc.

What are they actually building at the moment to make it possible to walk from A to G? I don't recall seeing any major construction at SFO last month.

Lucky you! How did you get that LT AA membership? The bonus is not having to fly a same-day OW flight!

SFO had the past two years to try to do something like that. Sucks that these qualities of life things take forever to accomplish.

That would be a great improvement for SFO International Terminal lounge-hoppers. I hope I am alive to see it! 🙏

Nothing at the moment, and I doubt we'll see construction start anytime soon. What they have in mind (assuming they still have it in mind) would be a major renovation of the International Terminal. I'd imagine they'd try to time it during low travel times.

ETA: Here's the plan: https://www.flysfo.com/sites/default...Departures.pdf
Note that this is from 2016. It might be a long time before they get to work on this, if ever.

It's a missed opportunity because travel crashed during the last two years.

True, but I would imagine it wasn't easy to staff and safely operate major indoor renovations in 2020 and the first half of 2021.

Yet, LGA decided to ramp up construction during COVID! What kind of excuse is that?
