If I have no luck getting a decent retention offer on my Green card I would be interested in upgrading to the Gold. Much more useful card. I already have a Gold so not worried about losing a sign-up bonus. Will AMEX let me have more than one Gold?
I presume my other option is to cancel as I understand there is no downgrade path for the Green?

No retention offer for Amex Delta Platinum. Recommended to downgrade to Blue with no annual fee. Declined and closed. Not worth $250 fee even with dining offer as I rarely fly DL now.

I also called and got the $100 + $200/4K offer for BBP. I use this card a fair amount and the rep even stated that. I chatted for my dad's card a couple weeks ago and got the 5K + 5K MR offer. I don't know if the difference in offers is because I use my card more or because of some other complex algorithm.
I chatted for my dad's Plat card ($2-3K/yr use) and got the 50K MR offer w/o any spend. He didn't call for offer lasts year, but got 30K the year before that.

20K just showed up, as well as the companion certificate BEFORE the annual fee even appeared. I asked on chat and they confirmed they were "automatic" offers given without asking. In addition to the $20/month for cellular, making it hard to not renew.... which I guess is their point!

Called in for 2 cards that AF posted. Green Card - First year, offer 7,500 points. Declined and cancel.
Delta Platinum, first year. $3.3k spend. Offer 30k miles. Decided to keep. The 30k, dining credit, and companion pass will far outweigh the AF.

Offered 10K HH points with no spend requirement. No spend on the card this year and almost no travel, so I closed the card. I already received 50K MR points on my personal Platinum and 50K Bonvoy points on the Bonvoy Brilliant with no spend requirement (both within the last two months), so I guess a third good retention offer was too much to hope for. Still, never hurts to ask!

Plat Biz Retention Offer
OK, I went ahead to chat online by the only chat I could find on my account page. But for some reason it didn't load for a few minutes. I tried a few times. I then called in. I got an friendly female agent. She didn't say her name or what department she represents, to my surprise. I told her AF has just posted and I am having a hard time digesting it because my favorite perks which is the lounge access is practically non-existent now. She took about 10 minutes asking me how I used the card last one year and what my plans are for the next year. So far, very businesslike tone and attitude. She suggested me to downgrade it to a Green Card with AF of $99 and 1MP for 1$ spent. I told her I have a Biz Blue Card with no AF and 2MP for $1 (up to 100,000MP/yr) and it doens't make sense to me. Then she puts me onhold for just for a very short time. She then came back with a bit brighter tone and offered me, thanking me for a 20-year Amex member (not with Plat Biz), to credit entire AF, which was just posted last week. Until she put me onhold, I didn't expect this ending at all.
My spending on this card was about $30K.
