Merchant Description
While a PayPal charge is pending, "PayPal" may not appear in the merchant description but will once the charge posts (e.g., a pending charge listed as "BESTBUY.COM" will become "PAYPAL BESTBUY.COM"). The reimbursement appears as "AMEX PAYPAL CREDIT", typically around 3 days later.

Google Pay
PayPal can be added to Google Pay via payments.google.com > Payment Methods > Add a payment method (note that not all Google Pay is created equal; e.g. this doesn't seem to work for Fi payments)

Known Working Examples
List of some vendors that accept PayPal, from the official PayPal website: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mp...l-credit-promo

Does anyone know if we can add Paypal (linked to amex plat card) to Samsung Pay (on Samsung Phone)?

I tried to add Paypal to my Samsung Pay, but it seems the Paypal option only supports top up via bank or debit card, not credit card.

And even if it did, it wouldn't work for this offer:

"Valid only for purchases made in U.S. Dollars using U.S. PayPal accounts." https://www.americanexpress.com/en-u...s/paypal-faqs/

AT&T TV Now

There was an option to use PayPal to pay for my tv streaming service AT&T TV Now. Never knew this was an option but now I don't need to think about how to use this credit each month.

Set my PayPal default payment to Amex Platinum to earn credit. Tried to use PayPal at checkout at Target.com. Took me to PayPal for login then back to target.com for payment.

The system populated a new Amex card number but would not accept my four digit pin. Also showed credit card radial not PayPal radial for payment.

Authorization for $1 was from Target not PayPal.

Not sure what I am doing wrong. Help!

It's too bad that YouTube doesn't accept PayPal. I have enjoyed YouTube Premium for the last few months, courtesy of Amex. But now I will cancel it.
None of my utilities companies(gas, electricity, water...) accept PayPal. I guess I will just buy $30 worth of junk online each month.

Not Working for Southwest Airlines

Set my PayPal default payment to Amex Platinum. Tried to use PayPal at checkout at southwest.com for airfare. However, Southwest does not accept Amex through paypal. It only accepts V, MC, Disc, and Dinners. Did anyone else make this work for southwest airfare?

Yes, it does. It took some clicking around for me to figure it out, but it did. I think you first add it to your Google play account and then you’ll see it under YouTube premium. Something like that. But don’t give up!

Anyone know if this offer applies to Personal Centurion cards as well? I noticed the Terms and Conditions:

Through June 30, 2021 you can earn up to $30 in statement credits each month when you use your Platinum Card® or Centurion® Card for transactions made with PayPal at eligible merchants. Valid only for purchases made in U.S. Dollars using U.S. PayPal accounts. PayPal accounts associated with any non-U.S. country are ineligible. Purchases made by both the Basic Card Member and Additional Card Members on the Card Account are eligible for the offer. However, the statement credits will be applied to the Basic Platinum Card® or Basic Centurion® Card account only and the total amount of statement credits will not exceed $30 per month.

Not sure what is a "BASIC" Platinum or Centurion card???

Basic means the primary cardholder, vs. authorized or Additional Card Members.

You should be able to add Paypal as a payment method on your Google Account. I was able to add that and apply it to my Youtube TV subscription. Since the payment methods appear to apply across all products I am assuming you could do the same and apply it to the Premium product.
