AMEX 90 day rule for declined application?

I can't seem to find any information on this. I was advised today that AMEX have a rule where the applicant must wait 90 days before applying again after an application decline. Is there any truth to this?

Thanks!

Advised by American Express?

What was the stated reason for the denial?

See here for related discussion: Only 3 Amex card applications allowed in 90 days? [USA]

You can only be approved for 2 credit cards in a rolling 90 day period. Charge cards don’t count.

No - hasn’t not been true in my experience. Amex usually recommends 30 days, but I don’t think even that is a hard and fast rule.
