AMEX COVID-19 BONUS EXPERIENCE WIKI

    • Google Fi - posted as streaming for some (plat - "GOOGLE *GOOGLE FI G.CO/HELPPAY# CA", pay.google.com, additional information shows "GAMES"); no credit on green (additional information shows "Axxxxxxx SELLER"). Not clear if this was a temporary miscoding since it posted as Wireless for several after May 22. UPDATE: GOOGLE FI still sometimes posts as streaming credit. Worked for me on September 14th 2020. Had already used the $20 wireless credit and paid another $20 go Google FI and it was refunded as streaming credit. My experience is that it works 50% of the time.

Wireless Credit Rules, Per Amex Website (https://www.americanexpress.com/us/r...fo/retail.html)
To earn additional rewards, the purchase must be for monthly wireless telephone service charges and made directly from a wireless telephone service provider in the United States.

The following types of purchases are NOT included for additional Wireless rewards:
  • Purchases from authorized retailers, resellers or third party sellers
  • Purchases for hardware (e.g phones and accessories) or repair services
  • Bundled services offered by Wireless companies for TV, Internet and VoIP
  • VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) services
Examples of merchants that accept the Card and where you can earn additional rewards for Wireless services include:
  • AT&T
  • Sprint
  • T-Mobile
  • Verizon
*This is not a complete list.

Examples of merchants where you will NOT earn additional rewards include:

No, read the link in my previous reply. To get the discount, you must use the VerizonŽ Visa Card, a debit card or bank account as your automatic payment method.

I didn't know Verizon even had a credit card. If the OP is paying via a bank draft then they are better off using the $20 am ex offer than the $10 back for auto pay.

Not sure what the Verizon points are worth on their credit card but they would still probably be better off paying $20 on the am ex and then the balance on the Verizon credit card unless the verizon purchases for bonus points are required to be paid with autopay.

Has anyone had any luck getting Google Fi credits that didn't code properly fixed? I have months of "GOOGLE *GOOGLE FI G.CO/HELPPAY# CA" credits that did not post. I asked chat to have it reviewed and they're saying that AMEX Offers reviewed it and said it didn't qualify because the merchant code isn't eligible. "Google Fi transactions may be eligible for the wireless credit, depending on how you pay for the charges. If you pay for Google Fi through Google Play or Google Pay, the charge isn't eligible for the credit. You must pay directly on the Google Fi platform to receive the credit."

I'm trying to get them to re-evaluate and they're refusing.

Trying to get them to issue credits for Google Fi is a dead end. Don't waste the time. They will provide information that is inaccurate / inconsistent from rep to rep which may lead you to believe there is hope. There is not.
