    • Google Fi - posted as streaming for some (plat - "GOOGLE *GOOGLE FI G.CO/HELPPAY# CA", pay.google.com, additional information shows "GAMES"); no credit on green (additional information shows "Axxxxxxx SELLER"). Not clear if this was a temporary miscoding since it posted as Wireless for several after May 22. UPDATE: GOOGLE FI still sometimes posts as streaming credit. Worked for me on September 14th 2020. Had already used the $20 wireless credit and paid another $20 go Google FI and it was refunded as streaming credit. My experience is that it works 50% of the time.

I think you assume incorrectly. The $200 travel credit being discussed in this thread is completely separate from the "normal" $200 airline incidentals credit attached to the card.

Looking forward beyond the special credit - it would be cool IMHO if Amex made Amex Travel an option to use the regular $200 incidental credit. So you can choose either a specific airline for incidentals, or choose Amex Travel for anything they sell (or even only airfare). I would almost certainly use that option if it was available...not holding my breath though!

good luck receiving valid cards online. I tried 4 times and got 4 invalid cards mailed. Had to call each time so ultimately wasnt worth it for me. According to reddit it's a known scam that Verizon workers use to give themselves free credits.

I received an email with the $200 Amex Travel credit mentioned. My plat card annual fee will post sometime in May.
However, my wife received a similar email with NO mentioning of the $200 Amex Travel credit. Her card annual fee posted in late April. I'm not sure if this means her account is not targeted. But if that's the case, we'll probably cancel her card and keep mine.

Exactly. That's why when my email didn't mention the $200 travel credit, I asked CSR and was told my account was not targeted. My renewal is November.

I've hoped for that for a few years; IMO it would be a natural extension of the credits since some of those funds stay in-house, and would give Plat cardholers some nice flexibility in using their $200 more comparable to the competition (read: CSR). Fingers crossed!

My renewal is not until October but I got a retention offer last year and so am not eligible this year for one.

There's really no reason they would give me a $200 credit. I mean I hope they will. But I would regard it as a real boondoggle if they do.

Edit — turns out I did get an email mentioning the credit so I guess it makes renewal easier.

Keep us posted - my auto-pay should happen in the next few days - I recently changed my Auto Pay back to AMEX Plat....but I also recently bundled Internet with Wireless so my AT&T bill is a mess right now

I feel like the way the offer is worded doesn't intend to exclude Google Fi or pre-paid wireless services.
"Get up to $20 back in statement credits each month you use your Card on wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers through 12/31/20."
Obviously, the T&Cs probably give them lots of outs. Also, I wouldn't really classify Google Fi as a VOIP provider, any more than I would classify T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, etc., since they also allow phones to connect through Wi-Fi networks. Hopefully the apparent exclusion of Google Fi is just because it hasn't been recoded in the system yet.

I may roll the dice and try it.

The real question is does buying a gift Verizon gift card online or in store trigger the Amex credit?
As a Verizon customer, I really hope there's a way to keep the autopay discount and pay with the Amex card. My monthly discount is $10 per billing cycle. In the worst case, I wonder if I could time two Amex payments of at least $20 each (for example, on May 28 and June 2), so that I can get $40+ in credits while losing only one month of Verizon autopay discount?

My renewal is May 22. My email did not include the $200 AmexTravel credit. I will have to call for retention offer.

It probably is, but if so, I am not very hopefully they will fix it. This is what my account so far shows for the Google Fi payment I submitted yesterday.

No mention of Google Fi. Not sure if that will change when it isn’t pending anymore, but right now it looks very much like my Google Domains postings.

Also possible, of course, that they (Amex) have more data than they show us here... but again, I am not particularly hopeful that they will fix it even if/when we complain. The first answer seems to be “wait four weeks as per T&C”.

Mine shows as Google Fi: however, it is classified as "Internet Services" which makes me believe this won't trigger. The chat rep said it would and wait 1-4 weeks. My guess is that you will need to call in and ask (every month, yuck)

In the land of first-world problems, has anyone heard anything about the Centurian credits? CSR won't divulge. I tend to get trigger happy with deleting spam-y messages and could have easily missed it but I don't think so, I've been watching.

All I've been able to learn when calling is that they are going to offer it to all Cent cardholders on your account, not just the main cardholder, which is appreciated.
