I got an e-mail and voicemail message from an account rep at AmEx Business stating that he's been assigned to my account, likely based on my increased business relationship in the past several months. He offered me a fully approved (and fairly significant) Working Capital line, for which my small property management business has no apparent use at the moment. I don't do MS or anything untoward like shady referrals, but my natural instinct is always to shun any extra attention to my credit accounts.

Has anyone else received similar outreach recently? Do these sales reps have the ability to pull extra strings on my behalf, such as retention offers or bypassing the 5 max CC limit?

These people are worthless. Pitchmen for added services. I needed help with a couple things last year and the guy was either of no use or ignored my repeated contact. They sure as hell don't pull any strings, relieve yourself of that idea. I view my rep as I do timeshare salesman.

Heh, at least timeshare salesfolks can be good for bonus points. Thanks for the heads-up.
