Pontus in the Air Amex Lounge Stockholm (ARN)

I don't see an existing thread on this. Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) has an affiliated Amex Lounge inside Terminal 5 which is the Star Alliance Terminal.

The lounge is located inside the shopping area which connects the F Concourse with the main, Gates 1-25, concourse. As you can see the signage is a little small.

Once inside go through this area past the couch and turn right and the lounge is inside. An agent checks your BP and Amex card

Seating is a little limited. Some couches, some tables and counters with power along a balcony overlooking the terminal

Snacks were pretty limited while I was there but there's also a menu

Overall a nice enough place though obviously lacking compared to any CL.

Covered pretty extensively here

but without your photographic contributions.

been there a couple of months ago. Decent place to wait for your flight.

Thanks for this - I was not aware of it.

It’s the only airport lounge in the world (of which I’m aware) where some people get reprimanded for trying to get a glass of water by themselves. In other words, be aware of the risk of trying to serve yourself drinks of any sort in it when staff doesn’t come around or isn’t around.

The Amex lounge finder info — and Amex’s own reps — have the wrong information about this lounge’s current hours of operation. Amex has more hours listed as the lounge’s operating hours than is the case. They close at 6pm Sunday-Friday, and they close at 5pm Saturday. And last order for food or drinks is 30 minutes earlier — at 5:30pm most days, or 4:30pm on Saturdays.

Amex told some customers that they would update the info on the Amex lounge finder so as to make it accurate per the lounge's actual operating hours. Weeks later, the lounge finder info is still wrong and over-represents the lounges hours of operation. Amex has not yet made any correction to reflect on-going reality with the lounge's reduced operating hours.

Amusingly, Google accurately has had the Amex ARN lounge’s current (reduced) operating hours listed even while the Amex lounge finder and Amex’s contact center reps are still advertising the lounge as having more operational hours than it has.

Recent Visit

Bumping this thread with a recent visit. My key takeaways:

- complimentary offerings not nearly as substantial as the U.S. lounges
- apparently Black card holders can access 2 more options on the menu complimentary

is this lounge still a thing, or is it now the pop-up amex lounge?

The lounge portrayed here is currently closed for renovation of the whole area there. They are currently operating the lounge near the F12 gate and call it "Pop Up Lounge". There is a separate Centurion part which is way larger than in the original lounge, also the Platinum part looks bigger. Food options and service is the same. From my point of view, the current setting is better than the original one and will stay like this for around another year.

F12...or F26? https://www.swedavia.com/arlanda/ser...pop-up-lounge/

Hmm, yes could be F26, my mistake. It's more or less at the beginning of the wing on the right side when coming out of security/duty free shop.

It is, but it’s been moved, renamed and is different in some ways than before.

This Amex Pontus in the Air pop up lounge has more space than the old lounge, but there are some things about it that may not be liked about it more than the prior location:

The pop up is located more poorly for most ARN T5 flights.
I no longer get hot entrees at lunch and dinner times there.
Options not on the menu or additional customization is no longer available like before.
Fewer places for most to plug in electronics and work while eating and drinking.

There are some things that I do find better for me about the pop-up:

It’s better positioned for my T2 departing flights (as I tend to take the airside bus to get between T2/C61 and T5/F5 from time to time).
More tables and/or more tables for two person parties.
More (and more attentive) staff serving lounge guests.
No more having to walk up or take elevators in T5 to get to the lounge after clearing security at T5.

Not relevant to me, but there is also a much closer smoking booth to the pop-up than there was to the prior lounge place.

I’m hoping for some advice.

I’ve seen that the new Amex lounge has opened at ARN. Is it possible to access it by walking airside from T2. I have a flight with Finnair next month and wondered if it was possible to walk through after check in.

thanks in advance
