I am UK based (I can't find the UK Centurion thread otherwise I would have added there).

I'm certainly not a huge spender compared to some on here - when I find more time I will share my figures, type of spend etc.

I've never used the concierge or 'asked' for an invite. Been a member of personal Platinum only since 2010.
Further to my earlier message, this is my spending information which hopefully may be useful for some of you:

2021 YTD - £90K
2020 - £142K
2019 - £112K

All spending has been for personal and not business. My wife has a supplementary card that accounts for approx. 15% of all spend. We live in Cheshire.

Travel - Very little due to COVID and young family. Not been abroad since 2019 which was a basic Spain package holiday. I have done a lot of UK business hotel stays so far in 2021 - approx 100 days across a wide range of mainly UK chain hotels. Approx two weeks in 5 star hotels.

Clothes - Approx. £10k/year on clothing, mostly designer e.g. Selfridge, Harvey Nichols etc.

Restaurants - Nandoís with the kids is the extent of my spending! Been out socialising with friends approx twice since 2019 thanks again to Covid and young family.

Luxury items - Iíve spent approx. £150/200k in the last five years on Rolex and Patek watches. Most recent major watch purchase was last week. Iíve also bought a lot of high end technology e.g. Alienware, components e.g. GTX 3090, lots of Apple devices etc.

General - I use my Amex wherever possible. Amazon, Sainsburyís, Mr Patelís corner shop Ö if they accept Amex I always pay using that with the intention of maximising my annual spend to hopefully get an invite!

Any other questions please feel free to ask. Ive been monitoring these Centurion threads for years to see if I can learn useful information, so this is my turn to help out if I can do!

Generally, how does Amex know these are the items you purchased? Does the charge show up as "Rolex" or "Alienware?"

Good point, it will only show the retailer's name and not what the purchase was for. But if the amount is high enough I suppose they don't particularly care!

Are you one of the people who havent sadly been working from home for the past 6 months. I know some hotels have been open for esential workers but many are just opening up in the past few weeks..

thanks for your comments on this thread is the main reason for my post.

Yes I've been one of the lucky/unlucky ones who qualified under essential travel to stay at hotels during covid. A very strange experience overall but also generally quiet and peaceful compared to how they are now.

I didn't know about this thread at the time but for those following stats, I was sent my offer in Jan 19 and my spend for 18 on my Platinum card was £250 in a single transaction at Xmas to use the concierge to send a bunch of flowers. That was it for the entire year as was using my BA Amex, I still joke with my RM about how low rent I am compared to the others they work with. I was recently sent a hotel option, from one of the RM pool team members after the recent RM system change, after asking for one which came to almost £100K for not all that many days, I politely declined and found one myself they'd plainly not looked at my profile !

I think my luck was that the concierge person on the flowers call was from Centurion and we chatted about it as I said I'd heard there hadn't been any offers for years and I was super interested after years of loading the cards but that year hadn't used it at all. 2 weeks later returned to a pile of post at home and the fingers felt an Expensive envelope which turned out to be a black square with Centurion embossed on it, couldn't contain my excitement !

Actually, you'd be very surprised with the details that sometimes appear. This comes from a purchase made last month - was impressed that it listed exactly what I ordered. No idea how it codes as a purchase, though - and even less idea if it's of any relevance to a Centurion invitation... 😅

Centurion UK events have now re-started.

The McLaren driving experience sounds good, but not for £1750. Other than that it's very London centric so not much for this northern monkey.

Anyone seen or heard when the Centurion refresh is likely to hit the UK, seems the US and continental Europe has their new card designs and Prada bracelets for months now along with a tappable (albeit stainless steel) card

Hi. I just received the invitation was going to email them and join right away. But my issue is I am a little worried about my current credit score. I have done two mortgage applications recently and my credit score has gone to good from excellent. I'm worried that if I accept now and they do a credit search they may turn me down as I have heard the centurion card requires perfect credit score? Could you please tell me what happened to you after you accepted your invitation? Did they do a credit check? Anything else they need ?Thank you

Hi, yes I believe they did a credit check on me. The whole process was done in a day or two, it was very quick. I completed the application form which was pretty basic, the only question that I was unsure about was 'annual income' as my base salary is relatively low. But that didn't present a problem as I was accepted anyway.

I wouldn't worry about your credit score, so long as you have been paying your credit cards on time and don't have any ccj's etc you should be fine. AMEX have allowed you to remain a client of theirs on your other card after all! Good luck and I'm sure you will be fine.

Thank you for your reply. I wrote to them and they said I could apply next month - I think I will wait till next month when the adverse impacts on my credit all become historical. Hope then my application will go through without any trouble!
