Are folks waiting for the additional 10% off dell code that usually happens for gcs or just burning it ASAP?

Purchased a $200+ item on Jan 1. Was only expecting to get a $100 credit but received the full $200 today.

Any AMEX offers that triggered the extra 100? Would be exciting if it was an extension of 2020 extra 100 credits.

Amex has clawed back extra credit given on the Dell deal. Don't think that they won't correct their mistake.

But in the event that they don't, congrats.

I just came here to report something similar... I bought a $106 item and was unexpectedly reimbursed the full $106. Not sure if it's intentional or an oversight, but what's annoying about AmEx's behavior lately is that they will just clawback if they made a mistake. And it could be a few months/years from now, and it could even be after the card has been closed.

I checked the language in the Dell credit section, and it still says $100 Jan-June and $100 July-Dec. So, who knows.

Made a $150 Dell purchase in 2021 and received a full refund. Is the biannual Dell benefit supposed to be $100 or $200 for 2021??

I just checked the language again too, too scared to intentionally go above 100 at the moment until we get an announcement.

Precisely; most of Dell's catalog is overpriced anyways so I had to spend an hour to find reasonable stuff lol. Although I applaud amex for being proactive about it compared to other banks.

Does Dell charge at the time of purchase or when they ship?

I wanted to add a datapoint from 2020: I made purchases of $219 on July 15 last year and I was credited the full $200. No clawback or funny charges since then... Anyone else monitoring their 2020 Dell purchases?

No, because, it worked the way it was supposed to. In case you missed the memo, the Dell benefit was raised to $200 in H1 and $200 in H2 last year as an advertised, temporary covid benefit.

Ahh got it... I actually did miss the memo on that one. My bad. I guess we really need to monitor it this year.

Data Point: Made purchase last week ($746) and received $100 credit yesterday. So it looks like the benefit is down to $100 every six months now (contrary to some posts earlier where they received more than $100 credit for purchases made in 2021)
