You should be OK, because (a) that wasn't a Premier Rewards Gold card, and (b) the database used to lookup previous cards seems to cover only about seven years. (This doesn't mean that American Express does not have older records, only that accounts seem to scroll off the live database in about seven years.)

Premier Rewards Gold was introduced as a replacement for Rewards Plus Gold in late 2009.

IDK what to do.....

I got the 50k MR points for $2k spend on this card offer on my AMEX page......AND I just got the 100k MR points for $5k in spend on the AMEX PLT card this morning.

I was hoping to get the PLT next year.....FICO is over 800.....no charge cards but 5 CCs with AMEX since 2012.

Could I apply for both the PRG and the PLT cards on the same day?

If you can tackle the spend requirements organically (not buying gift cards or other manufactured spend) then I don't see why not. Many of us hold both cards and as long as you haven't applied for a bunch of cards recently, two applications shouldn't have a big effect on anything.

I had the same issue. But I found out you have to manually change to the "Gold card tab" by clicking the stacked cards icon.

Some points I haven't seen made yet:

Why doesn't Amex just start called this "THE FOOD CARD?" Because that's what it's about now. Focused on restaurants and groceries. Travel is secondary. I'm not complaining--I just think it's funny. "Welcome to "The Food Card" by American Express. Fill your mileage accounts while you fill your stomach!"

Rose gold = pink. Buyer beware. There's a picture of the two new cards somewhere on the site now. I saw it earlier today after I got the email. I think I'll stick with regular gold.

If you think about it, the new gold card is now $30 annually, provided you actually utilize the $100 airline fee credit and $120 dining credit. Considering that I typically get at LEAST $30/year in other cash-back promotions with Amex, that makes the effective cost ZERO. In return, I'm getting quadruple points on two big spending categories, and by purchasing some gift cards at the local Publix when I shop, I'll get them on lots of other things as well. I can start getting quad points on gas, for instance. (Thanks to the person who first pointed out that Grubhub can be used for takeout. That makes it redeemable for me, since the delivery option mostly had minimum purchases too high for one person.) If you don't use that dining credit, though, it's a kind of expensive card.

The value of MR points can be higher than people are discussing because of the frequent transfer bonuses. I just transferred a bunch of points over to Avios because of the 40% bonus promotion they're having right now. Unfortunately, they never have them on Delta anymore.

In conclusion: I'm not getting rid of my CSR. The triple points on Priceline purchases is huge for me. Plus, the Hyatt transfers are an amazing value--that's actually where I've used the points the most. But I'll definitely start switching my dining costs over to the Amex, and really focus on periodically picking up gift cards when I go to the grocery store. My Publix has gas cards, Amazon, and Target at least.

What do you mean your AMEX page?

You just logged in and it popped up there?

Or did you click links? For instance, I log in, see my existing Amex cards. Scroll down to the bottom and I can click Credit Cards and it shows "Featured" cards but then I can click Rewards card and it will show the Gold card but with the 25k offer.

The Platinum card offer is for 60k points.

I had the Platinum Amex last year and I canceled it earlier this year. But I had the PRG through early 2017 when I upgraded to the Platinum.

So maybe too soon for them to offer me the bigger offers.

gift cards when I go to the grocery store
am i missing something re rose gold? were some not aware of what the color is?

terms now differentiate between cards with bonuses and cards without bonuses
with bonus terms specifically say gift cards are not eligible to receive MR (YMMV)
not talking about signup bonus, but earning (multiple since bonus) per dollar spent

Pretty certain this is treated as the SAME product as the PRG based on how HIlton Ascend is treated - people who have Surpass before are denied the sign up bonus of Ascend if it is thru new application, but not the upgrade bonus if they upgrade from the plain HH card to Ascend thru targeted upgrade offer, even though they have had Surpass before.

Besides, PRG is replaced with the new Gold both in the name and in the earning structure. Further indicates that the new Gold is treated as same product as PRG, or a replacement of PRG to be exact. Hence if you have PRG within the past 7 years, you will not get the sign up bonus of the new Gold.

This is explicitly stated in the offer terms. Zero ambiguity.

I'm guessing the rose gold is going to very similar to the iPhone rose gold. It's a collector's item. Get the Rose Gold now. If you really don't like it, you can always ask them to send for the standard gold one later.

Biggest advantage to MR points for me is that they can be transferred to both Marriott and Hilton, unlike Chase can only be to Marriott. Travel partners like Aeroplan and KrysFlyer is a good Star Alliance alternative to United, and often times have cheaper business class award redemption rates.

CSR is worth keeping for using it on third party travel sites and hotels (and a lot more travel related stuff like parking and public transport), because the Amex Plat 5X only works when you buy prepaid hotel reservations through their amextravel portal, which isn't always the best deal and doesn't earn you hotel rewards points..
