American Express Platinum Card® and Centurion® Card Benefit
You can receive up to $200 in Uber Cash annually by adding your Consumer Platinum Card® or Centurion® Card from American Express as a payment method on your Uber account.
The Amex Benefit in Uber Cash is distributed in monthly increments of $15, plus a $20 bonus in December (for $35 in December total). This amount can be used for Uber services in the United States. The Amex Benefit will expire at the end of each month and will not roll over to the following month.
To use the Amex Benefit in Uber Cash:
1. Enter your destination on the home screen
2. Tap on your payment method
3. Select Uber Cash (If you're using ride profiles, tap Change and select Uber Cash)
4. Request a ride
To find your Uber Cash balance, tap the menu icon in the top left corner of your app and select 'Payment'.
When Uber Cash is selected as your payment method, the Amex Benefit will be applied to your fare. When your Amex Benefit isn't enough to cover the cost of the ride, you will be presented options to top-up your Uber Cash using a payment method on file. Alternatively, you may choose to pay the remaining balance for the cost of the ride using your preferred payment method. You can view your current Amex Benefit balance by tapping 'Payment' in the main menu of your Uber app.
You will receive the Amex Benefit each month as long as your Card remains eligible and is a payment method on your Uber account. If your eligible card is added to multiple Uber accounts, the account that you added the card to first will receive the benefit.

To receive this benefit, you must have downloaded the Uber App version 3.219 or later for iOS or version 3.126 or later for Android and your eligible Platinum Card must be a method of payment in your Uber account. If you are assigned a new Card number, you must update your method of payment in your Uber account. Cards added to your Uber account through a third party such as Apple Pay or PayPal will not be eligible. A Platinum Card account may receive this benefit on one Uber account. If the same Card is added to multiple Uber accounts, only the first Uber account to which the Card is added will receive the benefit. Uber VIP is available in select cities and is governed by Uber's terms and conditions. Credit may be applied to all Uber car types and UberEATS orders. To redeem monthly ride Credits, you must select to use the Credit in your Uber app prior to completing the Uber ride or placing the UberEATS order. The discount will not apply to previous Uber transactions and cannot be used when paying with an UberFAMILY profile. New and existing Uber users are eligible. Uber will apply discount at the point of sale. There is no limit to the number of transactions you may apply the Credit to each month, up to a total of $15 in Credits per month. Each year in December, you may apply up to $35 in Credit. The discounted cost of a ride will be displayed on your post-ride email receipt. If you are eligible to receive additional Membership Rewards points on your ride transaction, points will be awarded on the balance after Credits are applied. For purposes of fulfilling upon this benefit, American Express will share with Uber certain information about your card, including the card type, and updated Card information from time to time. Today chatted with the AmEx rep. He sent the current info on Uber credit. So I added to the Wiki.
He did not say clearly how to claim Uber credits from two Plat cards with the same Uber account. Can someone detail it how this is done? So I can add to the Wiki? This may have been discussed somewhere in this thread.

I just discovered something today. I rated and tipped for a ride today that I took a couple of days ago (i.e. last month). I had paid for that ride entirely with pre-purchased Uber Cash, since my $15 Amex credit had already been used. The tip I made today for that ride was deducted from this month's $15 credit.

FYI the Uber app is so broken if you use your credit for a partial ride payment you can't tip your driver.
I used my plat credit on a ride to the airport that was ~$57 total. Applied my credit and charged the balance my card. Worked fine, until I went to rate and add a tip. Every time I try to it barfs back an error message saying I have insufficient credit to tip the driver and demanding I buy more UberBux. Except I can't buy UberBux in increments of less than $25. And he was long gone by the time I discovered this, so no option to tip in cash.
So now my driver is getting stiffed on a tip because Uber can't be bothered to make a payment system that works correctly.

I don't know, I've never had the tipping problem before, and then using this month's credit it wouldn't let me. Several other things also changed for me (including that the credit wasn't automatically selected) that resemble the negative experiences of some others on here, after not having had much issue in the past. It seems Uber may be testing different approaches, and if the one I newly experienced works well for whatever goals they're trying to set (I'd bet getting people to deposit money into Uber Cash is one of the goals), you may find your experience changes for the worse.

I just applied the remainder of my July Amex credit, with the balance of the fare on my credit card (Add enough to cover this trip only?) as usual; added a credit card tip as usual just fine, via Android app.

I chatted with the useless uber reps who said that both of the Amex cards on my account were NOT enrolled in the Amex Premium Benefits so I shouldn't be receiving any credits. I tried adding cards and deleting them to no avail. Any suggestions?

About the only thing you can do is continue to bother Uber "customer service" until you receive the other $15 in credit. As you and I both know, there's no "enrolling" your Platinum cards for the Uber credits - it's supposed to be automatic when you add the card(s) to your Uber account.

As many suggested, there's no benefit in charging your rides to AmEx cards. I'd delete from from Uber profile. Once a month add them one at a time -- pausing to make sure the credits appear as well. Then remove again until the following month.
If one card does not generate the credit, you'll know which one and can report that to AmEx.

I contacted AMEX and the agent immediately told me it is an Uber problem. She said many people are having this problem and they will credit $15 to any Uber ride that is charged to my Platinum card. So if you are having this problem, just charge to the AMEX and they will credit it. This is still annoying as I prefer to use the Chase Sapphire Reserve for the points. I guess I will try to use it on a ride as close to $15 as possible.
Frankly, I have trouble believing such a tech-oriented company like Uber has so much trouble that even random AMEX phone representatives are getting so many complaints about it. I have decided to write in to AMEX to complain about this experience as it will be too much hassle to call in every month to get a promised benefit. I would encourage others to do the same. Snail mail addressed there goes directly to corporate executives (I believe it is a public address, but in any case I received permission to post it publicly). For what it is worth, I wrote to this address a few years ago when I was having trouble with a financial review on a business AMEX and I had a phone call from a VP a week later that resolved all my problems. So AMEX seems responsive at this address.
The AMEX agent today also mentioned that it is possible to call the NYC corporate office to lodge complaints. The number is 212-640-2000 and hours are 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Eastern time.
