I don't know the answer to your specific question, but the 20+80 offer just recently ended, so whatever the frequency is, my guess is it's still probably going to be a while before/if it goes back to that level again.

I just received an kinda wierd target offer for the Delta Amex cards.
Gold: 70k/$2k spend, $0/$99 AFPlatinum: 80k/$2k spend + 20% statement credit for all eligible purchases (max $200). $250AF.
The weird part is the 20% statement credit. I have never seen the offer before. It seems to apply to all purchases in the first 3 months, not just Delta purchases.
Has anyone received similar offer?
Thanks.

20% Statement Credit
You can earn 20% back in the form of statement credits on all eligible purchases made with your Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card within your first 3 months of Card Membership, starting from the date your account is approved (up to $200 back). A statement credit will be applied 8-12 weeks after you make a qualifying purchase. Eligible purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member and any Additional Card Members on a single Card Account. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases to meet the spend requirements do NOT include fees or interest charges, purchases of gift cards; or purchases of any cash equivalents. Additional Card Members on your account are not eligible for this offer. In rare instances, your period to make eligible purchases may be shorter than 3 months if there is a delay in receiving your Card. Purchases may fall outside of the 3 month period in some cases, such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction. (For example, if you buy goods online, the purchase date may be the date the goods are shipped). To earn 20% back, your account must not be canceled or past due at the time a statement credit is applied to your Card Account. If your application is not received by 2/10/2021, we will not process your application even if we later receive your application. American Express reserves the right to modify or revoke offer at any time.

I dont think it's unusual for there to be multiple variations of the same offer. I posted DoC's article for those who might want to check if they are targeted. Plus, he says there is no lifetime language on that offer.

Spouse received a mailer with no lifeline language (previous Gold cardholder), applied for 70k Gold card but immediately declined and cannot see reason on Amex status site. Does the Delta/Amex site not have the ability to give pop-ups like the Amex site itself?

The "popup" only appears if the applicant is ineligible for a bonus. The application could be declined for another reason. You can wait for the letter or call.

delta sky miles credit card
this is the last day of the application. If someone can help, I have a couple of questions:
1: 200 credit, if I buy a drink on the delta airplane, do I get this credit?
2: if I am not the person who booked the tickets, but I am one of the passengers, do everybody else get the free checked bag?
Thanks

Not sure which card you are referring to. There four Delta cards: Blue, Gold, Platinum, and Reserve.
I don't believe any of the Delta cards offer a $200 credit. You may be confusing this with the American Express Platinum $200 Airline Fee credit. (This is confusing branding on the part of Amex but, to be clear, the American Express Platinum Card and the American Express Delta Platinum Card are different cards with different benefits)
To answer your second question, yes. The Terms are pasted below...
This benefit is available to Delta Gold, Delta Platinum, and Delta Reserve cardholders (not Delta Blue). You can see that the reservation must include your SkyMiles number (after you have linked it with your Amex account) and then the fee waiver applies to 8 additional passengers traveling on the same reservation provided that it meets all of the standard criteria.

First Checked Bag Free
Benefit is limited to Basic Card Members (not Additional Card Members) with the Delta SkyMiles® Gold, Delta SkyMiles® Platinum or Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Cards. Reservation must include the Basic Card Member's SkyMiles number. Fee waiver also available for passengers traveling in the same reservation as the Basic Card Member. Maximum nine waivers per reservation. Waiver is only for normal bag fee, if any, for the first checked bag that is not overweight and not oversize under Delta's applicable rules as set forth in Delta's contract of carriage. Additional checked bags will be subject to the applicable baggage fees as outlined by Delta's rules and the purchased fare as set forth in Delta's contract of carriage. The first checked bag fee waiver will only be applied on flight segments which originate on a Delta or Delta Connection® carrier when you check-in with Delta for both a Delta marketed and Delta operated flight. Codeshare flights are not eligible. New Card Members and Card Members upgrading from another Delta SkyMiles Card product will be eligible for the checked baggage fee waiver benefit after receiving their Card from American Express. Offer terms and conditions subject to change. Additional terms, conditions and restrictions may apply. See delta.com/firstbagfree for details.

I would assume anything that posts with a Delta merchant code would trigger it, but I can’t confirm in flight purchase triggers it (I bought a plane ticket).

eponymous_coward thanks for the clarification. I picked up the Delta Platinum during the card refresh a year or two back when the SUB was a simple "Spend X/Receive Y SkyMiles". I imagine that the Sign Up Offer's terms would shed some light as to what qualifies (although in-flight purchases can sometimes be their own special grey area) but I can't track those down.

OP’s referring to AMEX SUB offers where if you make a DL purchase during the first 3 months you get a statement credit. These are commonly available as a SUB. I had one for my DL AMEX Gold when I applied off of Delta.com ($200 statement credit, this +70k SkyPesos was better than the offers bloggers were pushing).

Delta Gold bonus clawback?
I recently opened a Delta gold card with 70K bonus after $2000 spend. I was planning to use my upcoming cruise final payment to meet this spend. However I recently became aware that the cruise itinerary may be either cancelled or rerouted due to Covid policies of the islands involved. If this happens, I would want to cancel the cruise. Would Amex claw back my SUB?
