Also check Delta.com: Sometimes better offers might be available there.

The Amex referral page has a 60K offer for the Delta Personal card.

There are several 60, 000 miles offers for the personal card with the first year annual fee waived the first year, valid through May 1, 2019. They are listed in this referral thread. These are way better than the current standard public offer of 30,000 miles shown on Delta's website

A post on Reddit suggests that you can find a 50K offer, but with a $100 credit, by doing a dummy booking on Delta.com.
The offer should appear before you have to pay for the flight. [Did [b]not work when I booked a flt today, 3/15/17.]

Jacobsta811 also received $50 credit for $50 e-cert on both gold business and gold personal cards.
muji received $100 credit for $50 eCert on Delta Platinum card

Yes, I, too, just applied and got approved for the 70K Gold Delta card. I previously had the card several times and didn't figure on getting it again but the rules have changed----no more lifetime restrictions in the T&C. 70K miles after 2K spend is a great bonus.

To meet the Min spend on the Delta Card does the following count:
1. Buying Gift Cards at grocery store?*
2. Paying a fried using PayPal (and paying a hefty fee)?

*) WM stopped accepting Gift Cards for MO (and GoBank) in my area. Can the Gift Cards be liquidated by paying a friend through PayPal?

I was able to buy a $50.00 by typing in $50 in the box, even if you have to choose the $75 option tab they have displayed, you should still be able to type in $50 in the box and end up with a $50 card

Buying gift cards along with groceries on the same purchases is likely to count, especially if each purchase at that grocery store is a substantially different amount, and if you also make smaller purchases at the same grocery store at other times, so that there's no "clue" from the amounts or spend pattern that you were buying gift cards.

I have no idea about PayPal, but that sounds both more costly and more risky to me. Amex says "cash equivalents" don't count, and it's much more likely that the would figure out such a PayPal transfer is a "cash equivalent" than that they would figure out that a couple purchases at grocery store of "512.43" and "521.92" were actually gift cards plus groceries, where other purchases at the same grocery store (especially if in between those two bigger ones) are "9.21" and "146.55" (the latter perhaps being a couple smaller retail gift cards plus groceries).

Amex is looking into ways to spot MS (which they don't want you to be doing), so you have to "hide" it as well as possible if you're going to do it, and you also should try to only do it to the minimum degree required to get a bonus (with as much "natural" spend mixed in as possible).

The regular Publix 'buy a $50 gas card for $40 with $50+ grocery purchase' promotions have always generated AmEx points/miles for me. But then those are pretty clearly not MS scenarios.

Thanks for confirming this, super helpful. I got this email offer recently and this was on my mind. Of course I could apply and see if I get the popup, but I was preferring to wait until I was ready to test it out in case it went through.

I have to imagine A LOT of churners will jump on this card who had it in the past. 70K Delta Miles is nice considering the landscape of overall options for card bonuses seems to be getting tighter and tighter.

My undocumented brother with the same last name and same mailing address as me has no US credit history or US ssn, so he cannot apply for an amex card, but he has a Delta account.

I have already signed up for all flavors of delta amex cards.

My brother's delta account got no-lifetime targeted for the 70k gold offer, sent in postal mail.

After pulling up the no-lifetime application page, can I use my name that I sign up for the amex card (but keep his delta account number within the application so he gets the miles since its his delta account that was targetted)? The application page allows filling in all details like my name etc, except his delta mileage account number is fixed.

Basically do we have any data points of something like this working - using someone else's targetted link specially when the last name and address are the same?

Applying for a targeted offer meant for another person [Consolidated]

My recollection is poor success rate with personal cards, better with business cards. Since then, American Express has introduced terms which specifically mention using offers intended for someone else:

Amex USA terms now penalize:abuse,misuse,gaming;1st yr downgrade/close;leaked offers.

One of the Bloggers on the Boarding Area posted the 70k Gold for $2k spend in 3 months. I just applied through a mailer for this card only it was 60k not 70k. Has anyone ever been successful with calling AMEX and asking for the larger amount?

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned. I know a reasonable number of people pay their taxes with their Delta (Plat/Reserve) Amex to hit the 25K spend waiver (and get the additional MQM), however, loss of the bonus miles really stings.

What about using the Delta Amex Platinum Business? It gives 1.5 miles on purchases of 5K or more, which would effectively give about the same number of miles, assuming you are making a large payment.

Delta Skymiles Platinum Amex offer

Post card portfolio updates, got a preapproved offer for a Delta Skymiles Platinum Amex.

Offered: 15,000 Skymiles after $1000 spend in first 90 days. 10,000 MQM boost _after_ $25k spend.

Pretty anemic offer.

They used to offer 60k Skymiles and a $100 statement credit if I recall.

Not jumping on this ...

They used to offer bonus MQM's as well for a sign up offer. That isn't a good deal. And you won't get lounge access anyway with that card, only the reserve.

Applied for the Delta Plat special offer of spend 2K in 3 mo get 80,000 miles. Got approved and I confirmed the bonus.

2 days later (today) I did the same with the Delta Gold special offer of spend 2K in 3 mo and get 70,000 miles. Got approved as well.

Both apps went the exact same way. They went pending and I called in and answered that I was not in the military and that my family was not, then approved easily. No credit checks obviously as I am a long time AMEX customer.

The business card offers are still on the table so I might go for those in Dec/Jan.

And just to confirm, I have had all of these cards before. These offers are from the emails many of us are getting that include the special language on the offer eligibility.
