Also check Delta.com: Sometimes better offers might be available there.

The Amex referral page has a 60K offer for the Delta Personal card.

The following offers for up to 70K on personal and business:

valid through 04/11/2018

There are several 60, 000 miles offers for the personal card with the first year annual fee waived the first year, valid through May 1, 2019. They are listed in this referral thread. These are way better than the current standard public offer of 30,000 miles shown on Delta's website

Delta Amex Gold personal card: 50k+10k miles + $50 statement credit, $2,000 spend, $95 annual fee waived the first year

A post on Reddit suggests that you can find a 50K offer, but with a $100 credit, by doing a dummy booking on Delta.com.
The offer should appear before you have to pay for the flight. [Did [b]not work when I booked a flt today, 3/15/17.]

Note: Review the recent discussion in the thread about various other ways to try to locate offers as high as 50k+$50 credit.

Getting the statement credit:
MrMoonlight successfully purchased a Delta ecert (essentially a gift card) and received the statement credit. See this post..
Jacobsta811 also received $50 credit for $50 e-cert on both gold business and gold personal cards.
muji received $100 credit for $50 eCert on Delta Platinum card
sdsearch received $100 credit for $50 eCert on business Platinum card (see this post).
vah4883 received $100 credit for $5.6 tax on Platinum card
philemer received $100 credit for buying a box lunch on board

An offer to waive (or reduce) the fee is called a "retention offer". To determine the likelihood of getting an offer to waive part or all of the fee on your current card, go through this thread and see if you can any reports on Delta Plat calls:

Uuually to get retention offers, you don't want to start out by asking to downgrade (because then they'll skip the offers most likely), instead say you're concerned about the annual fee and you're thus considering canceling, but you want to know what options you have.

Question - I was approved for the 70K redeemable miles personal Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card back in September 2017. Met the spending requirement with plenty of room to spare. When the 70K miles did not post, I called Amex. The rep said it would take 6-8 weeks for their investigation. It's been eight weeks. Nothing at all from Amex, so I called again. Now they are saying they need another two to three weeks. Should I believe them or file a complaint with the CFPB now?

Look like I am going to be in the same boat with some of your guys, so I applied for the leak link Delta Gold personal card. I already have this card in the past 2015, and I reapply using the link with no language. I meet the spend on 2/17/2018, and the statement close on 2/21/2018. Which on the statement it also show 50k bonus, but until now I have not receive even the base point as of today. I twitter with Amex, and they say my account is being review to see all the charge is legit or not. Once the review complete I will get my point deposit to skymile, they say it will take 6-8 weeks. It look like I will wait until then 4/17/2018 to check back, and if they don't give me anything. I will file complain with CBFB once it pass the 8 week periods, hopefully this will not come as out no point in the end

No, you can get 1 each of the pers gold, biz gold, pers plat, & biz plat. They are all different products. I've had the gold pers & biz and currently have the plat biz so may jump on the pers plat. You still have to comply with Amex's other restrictions, though (ie. the number of credit cards total amex allows.)

My son has had a DL SM # all his life and just turned 18 (still in HS). Today he received a mailer with a 50k/$2k + 10k/$1k offer for the DL Gold. While he's been a plat AU among other AUs on our cards, he's never had his own card. He does have a job, but only earns $400/month. We would, of course, be helping him meet the minimum spend. What I can't figure out is if the invitation in any way means he's likely be to approved. It reads like a "target" offer but not a pre approved one. If it's just targeted, what's the likelihood of his getting approved with the invite? His credit score is 750.

Assume you are still thinking about the ideas discussed in THIS thread, and he has not yet applied anywhere? I am not a parent, but I would start with one of the student cards, wait for it to appear on the credit report with some cycles of activity, before applying for a standard card. No lender likes to go first, but that's the purpose of the student cards and the risk is built into the product.

If it doesn't say "pre-approved," he's not pre-approved.

Hard to say, but with a 750 FICO and given that it's Amex and not Chase (or Barclaycard, or Citi), he has nothing to lose. One inquiry is all but meaningless in his situation.

Yes, I am thinking about that thread, but b/c this was a targeted Amex DL offer I figured I'd ask this question here. I don't think he can get a student card until he's in college (at least that's what I'm seeing on their offer pages). I realize that doesn't bode well for the current question.

Okay. I agree. What's one ding in the grand scheme of things? He doesn't have time to do the cycles on another card for this particular offer. I may have him try. Worst case: rejection and a few points on his credit rating till he rebounds. Best case: approval (even with a limited credit line, it would be great).

I've been getting flooded with DL Amex mailers lately, including a new one today for the 70K miles/10K MQM/$3K spend DL Platinum offer that appears to be public. I had finally given in a few weeks ago to a 45K miles/15K MQM/$1K spend DL Platinum mailer I got. I'd be more upset but I'm not sure I would have been able to cover the extra $2K spend in the next 3 months naturally, most of my spend is going to my personal Amex cards to try to boost my MR numbers for a trip later in the year.

It is not preapproved. Very very rarely these days card issuers have preapproved offers.

However if your son has been an AU on your Plat card and many other cards. his credit history is by no means empty. Chances are he would be approved on this DL card. I have a friend who has his children on his AMEX cards for years. When his daughter turned 18, he went on to get her "real" cards - all of them were instant approved. As for the income, google household income, you will likely find that banks now count income of the parents if it is available for the disposal of the children.
